Why are you punished for being nice???? (Positional Matchmaking trade Complaint.)

Why is this a thing Riot? I was being nice. My top laner got jungle and he said "I've never jungled before" so I took it. Why should someone be punished for that? You guys must know that the autofill system just makes people angry and angry people tend to troll if they don't do well.

I just don't get it. If you're better at a role then someone who's first getting it or gets autofilled why shouldn't you be allowed to trade for it? Why must the system be so bloody rigid that you can only play what roles your assigned and are punished if you don't.

Because if they don't punish it, it's abusable.

Say you're a Platinum Midlaner and a Bronze jungler, and you have a buddy who is the exact reverse.

If you queue as Jg and your friend queues as Mid, and you swap, you'll be placed in Bronze games with a Plat skill level and will have an insane win rate.

If this was allowed, it would be entirely possible to get your main role to challenger without playing a single match ranked above Silver.

The honest answer, is the game is catered to the pro scene. So it revolves around 5 man stack teams. No nerf or buff has ever taken place because of the "solo" struggles.

Because you can abuse it to que up as a position you have a low rank in then swap into something you're much better at.

I imagine this is to prevent people who queue for their roll but want to troll by saying "i don't play X lane"

Riot should probably just work on banning them rather than punishing people like OP who will trade roles

If they punish the people being nice while trying to punish the abusers then they need to delete this entire matchmaking system. In no way should it be punishable for two people to switch lanes if they both equally want to.

I had a enemy Zed that was top lane and his Mid lane got stomped 2 times in 5m of the game. SO this Zed left top lane at lvl 2 and roamed the map.

In the end Im sure he was not counted as Top lane and so when his team lost (in par because I free farmed top lane) he did not lose LP for top lane.

I reported him and sent in a Support ticket but if I hadn't he would have gotten away with it.

If you don't abuse it you won't be punished? It's just letting you know to discourage you from abusing it... Why are you trying to spread fake news? Like it's extremely obvious you're not in any harm. Unless you're trading your position for 20 games straight... you're not going to be harmed in any way. God this post is annoying lol. Trying to act like League is saying not to be nice when in reality it's just telling you abusing the system will be punished. If you seriously thought they were going to punish you for trading roles every now in then... Boy- Like what? You can't be that-... If they were going to punish you for using the trade system once a month... they wouldn't have it in the game in the first place... that never occured to you or?

There really should be a formal option in the champion select that allows you to trade. Then all these problems won't even show up. It would be way better. Of course Riot will have to make sure people don't spam trade but it would be better than the system now.

You are allowed to trade.

Did you miss the "frequently"? If you do it once in a while, you're perfectly fine.

Because there are people who steal other peoples lanes and they used to get away with it

Because its a selfish game and you should be a dick.

Why do you think you were being punished ?

My top laner got jungle and he said "I've never jungled before" so I took it.

The problem is the positional matchmaking is supposed to have accounted for the fact your toplaner got jungle and is unexperienced in this position. So while giving him the jungle the matchmaking algorythm also should have placed him far below his skill level in his main roles. By swapping with him you just ruined the matchmaking calculations and made the match unbalanced. So riot is not punishing you, it's just warning you that if you swap too often and thus ruin the matchmaking calculation, it will not apply the "per role" ranking anymore to place you, and you will have a general ranking as you had in previous seasons.

I do not find this unreasonnable, maybe their wording is bad, but in no way you are going to be punished.
