These changes to Akali are a step backwards, not a step foward to fixing her.

As an Avid Akali player since the end of season 1, I am very dissapointed by the changes that Riot decided to make on Akali's Q/E proc. Since the change was originally implemented sometime ago to allow her mark to be triggered by E, her kit seemed very fluent. Playing Akali in season 1 and early season 2 it was more managable to play without the Q proc from her crescent slash because the mid meta was vastly different, and much more sustainable (I think we all remember how you could stack potions) for her early game drawback.

Now as someone who has played Akali for thousands of games, I do understand that she has always had a rediculious amount of burst with low lane counterplay. I'll admit that. But why remove the fluidity of her kit by removing the proc? Now I can't do anything once again in lane, and these days it is much harder to sustain till 6 with the agressive playstyle of most midlaners like Zed, Annie, Ori, the list goes on. The ult nerf was completely justified. You could of lowered her scaling, you could of increased the cooldown on her E or Q, I would of pretty much been okay with anything BUT this. Why for the love of god would you make her E essentially useless again? You might aswell re-work her E now, because it is a subpar wave clear move with minimal damage. Riot, you seriously need to re-consider either reverting these changes and adjusting her in some other area, or just flat out changing the ability.

This part of my rant is just personal bias and you could easily argue, "Hue practice or get gud" but I have been using that Q/E proc combo for so long that it is almost innately ingrained into my Akali mechanics. It just made her kit seem so solid and satistifying overall.

I knew for the past year or two that this day would eventually come where she would be nerfed, but this is the last thing I expected. It has taken the fun out of one of my most beloved champions. I know she had balance issues, but was this really the right direction? Hell, there were plenty of strong counter picks against her regardless. I played against Akali as Swain in my first rank match of the season and went 14/0/10. Now I can't even face Annie without getting my shit kicked in.

akali players: this change is bad non akali players: seems pretty cool to me

and them E changes see pretty cool to me maybe if she lost her spell vamp, or her passive entirely, fk that.. she can have her E back ;l

As an Akali main for a year, this change forces a very different play style, and now putting up with pre-level 6 is not rewarding with that decreased range on R and even more decreased range with E being useless in fights (considering you make it to 6 in good shape). This is not a constructive nerf but rather a lazy one that just changed a few variables and rendered the champion un-enjoyable and useless.

If the spell vamp on gunblade was lowered to 10% and they raised the ap and ad it gave. Or just removed it. With a solid nerf like that I feel it would be more than fair the undo the recent nerfs.
