What if 1% true damage was removed from vayne bolts?

I'd rather remove or nerf the flat true damage it deals.

60 true damage max rank isn't a whole lot of damage, I guess, but hey it's a love tap nerf. Then maybe we could do the 1% nerf.

For 1% of max health to be equal to 60 flat damage, the target needs 6000 HP.

It would be harsher to remove the flat damage, but it would also make more sense; against the average 1800-2200 HP target, that flat damage is worth 2.7-3.3% of max HP. Against the 4k-5k HP targets, it's 1.5% or less.

EDIT: I'm not disagreeing, I'm just pointing out the difference. I, too, would prefer that the flat damage be removed from Vayne's W. This actually would make her more reliant on building her damage up.

Precisely my point. She shreds tanks, but doesn't hurt squishies proportionally more if we removed it.

To be honest she'd probably see a slight drop in popularity, but not much else. The majority of her damage is still physical and from her autoattacks; removing 1% true damage removes 20-40 damage from her W proc at best (2000-4000 health; general lategame health. could go up to 5k for some tanks).

because there is no correct way to itemize against a vayne, like there is for every other champion in the game.

which makes her more frustrating to deal with than anything else.

i have taken half my health pool in true damage from a vayne before.

she takes like 2 or 3 shots more to take you out. awesome. dont forget, that she still has that convenient flat true damage on her w in addition to the % value, just in case you try to stack armor instead of health to minimize her damage.

LW is standard on ADC anyway, nothing to do with vayne.Remember that with 300 armor, you still get a nice damage reduction after it got reduced by LW. Your goal is to make her focus you long enough to cc her, so your team can thrown everything on her. (If you play in soloQ, she won't get propper peel anyway, so just burst her) She is easy to catch if she isn't well positionned.

Thornmail negate her lifesteal, and dish a bit of damage. FH straight up reduce her DPS.

But it's still vayne, it's her job to be a late-game tank killer. She also have to keep procing her silver bolt, so she lose damage when she change target.

Oh, and also if she 3 shot you as a tank, you are doing something wrong. (And you should gank her to :D)

it has everything to do with vayne.

you cant even mitigate the physical damage on her properly, and borks passive ignores thornmail, while applying lifesteal as of recent patches. and thats all on top of that lovely true damage.

Vayne wouldn't be Vayne anymore. Although if true damage is removed, they'd probably add some in its place. Like an attack speed buff or another skillshot. For a mana champion, Vayne really doesn't use too much of it.

what if all of it was removed and they just increased the flat value somewhat? its not like this would make her w weak or change anythign about her theme.

for some sreason this concept works with the new fiora without breaking her. probably because there is more direct counterplay to her true damage, and she has to put herself at higher risk than vayne to apply it.

no chunking bolts from behind a support and a tank, while kiting with a knockback and mobility spell.

unlike fighting vayne you actually can fight back against fiora.

just to put it into perspective. a single w proc on a 3500 health target will deal 340 true damage. thats half the damage on darius ult already.
