Yasuo

Listen I get it, most of the player base for that champion can't play him correctly.

But the few that do play him correctly are stupidly oppressive.

Died once to him. Came back with Ninja Tabi. Died to him again because I was an immobile mage. He happened to force it to where I have to be under his tower with good minion control.

Heres the reason why Yasuo is poorly designed.

1: When into any other champion with dashes/ blinks. He can barely keep par.

2: When into any other champion without dashes/ blinks. He dominates.

3: He builds HALF of the ADC's Items and gets the full effect of the crit at 100%. Lets just change Vayne and Yasuo's Passives. Or Twitch and Yasuo's Passives. They would instantly become broken. But because he is "melee" its okay for him to get 50% free crit. If we compare him to Tryndamere the closest Melee AD crit builder in the game who gets 35% Crit off of rage. Its still a massive gap. Tryndamere has one way in or one way out. Unless your team lets him freely auto them to death. In which then he gets both. But when compared to yasuo. He can use 3 dashes to get in, and 3 dashes to get out. But to be fair "They have to be minions or champions that he hasn't recently dashed on." Okay. So its a targetted dash. Gotcha. So lets give it to braum. Braum should be able to jump to any ally or minion that he hasn't recently jumped to. Oh wait. That would be stupidly broken. He could literally jump around the whole team fight with his shield up blocking everything.

4: His dashes. Are his engage and disengage. Combine that with the fact that he can avoid any type of ranged spell (aside from select few) or ranged auto attack. His dashes are undeniable. Lets say you do pick someone like Ryze. All he has to do is build Merk Treads. He doesn't need to build anything else. Due to him already getting most of his power from two items (IE and PD). He is allowed to get tankier items. Vs the ADC who is full glass cannon.

5: Yasuo is also able to fully dip himself in the supports itemization. The support that was ADC item slots 7-12. Is now also Yasuo's item slots 7-12.

6: A ability that denies ALL ranged damage. I don't know why this is still a thing. At least Braum eats the damage. But seriously, when has it ever been fair to block projectiled ultis. Rengar Q's?

7: A shield, given the shield isn't that big of a problem. It just becomes a problem when a champion is overloaded.

So lets recap of the things that make yasuo problematic.

1: Free Dashes

2: Cooldown Reduction based on something else (attack speed)

3: Armor Shred on ulti

4: Free Crit Chance

5: Ability to block all sorts of skills.

6: Free Itemization into pretty much anything he needs.

7: Extremely good synergy with everyone outside of himself. So long as they build Ardent or have some form of knock up. Anivia in the past lost her free E damage proc when people were slowed or stunned. But yasuo gets to keep his?

My solution to his overall problem?

Now remember, when you remove 1 thing you remove a % of his power. But when you remove multiple things, you are exponentially removing his power.

I think Yasuo's should have Free Dashes on a counter. 6 Charges that refresh every 8 second. Meaning he can't just go in on you every single wave. I picked 6 for his all in capabilities. He still needs the threat that he can all in a player and kill them.

Cooldown reduction based on attack speed, shouldn't be a thing. Its LITERALLY NOT A THING FOR ANY OTHER CHAMPION IN THE GAME.

Armor Shred can stay. Even if the way it was proced was dumb. Its needed when he does it himself.

Its either we remove the free crit chance he gets or make his W last for as long as malzahar passive does with a two charge system. These would be the biggest nerfs to him. 1: Removing the free crit makes him either go full into the crit branch removing his free itemization. 2: Making the windwall last for .25 second with two charges means. He has to use them very wisely. Now on a side note; this would actually make him even more overpowered in the hands of a good yasuo, because they could block out more abilities or block out abilities coming from two sides.

I think everyone has become very used to Yasuo being able to proc off of everyone and their mothers. So removing this from yasuo now would hurt the game more than anything else. It would take time for the community to stop flashing away from a Ali headbutt if only yas is around.

So if you were too lazy to actually read what I had said.

tl;dr

Dashes on a 6 counter system that recharges 1 every 8 seconds (recharge rate scales down by 1.5 second per rank) meaning 2 second recharge rate at rank 5.

No free Cooldown reduction because of attack speed.

Remove the free crit OR make his windwall last for .25 second with two charges. Recharging at 10 seconds (no scaling down with anything other than CDR).

Before you yasuo players go ape shit crazy about "That would be too much~!" please consider the following. If these were to go through and Yasuo was at a bad area. He would be easier to adjust.

1: Would be make his windwall have three charges.

2: Would be things with his timers. This would open up more avenues to balancing this balance nightmare.

The only issue I have with him, is his scaling, as he will hard outscale majority of top laners if given enough time. This is mostly problematic in low elo, as I imagine every smurf abusing Yasuo in silver / bronze and getting free 1 vs 5 wins. At the same time even non smurf Yasuo would probably be annoying in low elo to face, as they always struggle to close out games, and Yasuo is just naturally good at farming. In a sense it's similar issue to people being unable to deal with Tryndamere in low elo, but Yasuo takes another step by actually having some teamfight presence.

What I find astonishing is how Yasuo's winrate doesn't really change much as you go up the ladder. Either you are low elo and you suck with him/are bad at the game or if you are high elo and Yasuo is just a weak champion overall.

He is getting close to being back at 50% winrate overall again, but I still think people way overestimate his strength.

More specifically to your post, to be fair, Yasuo is supposed to upscale people. He was on of RIOT's attempts for a melee hyper carry: very low base stats, great scaling.

1- Vayne is ranged, has a %max hp true damage passive, and bonus AD on her ultimate.

2- twitch is ranged, and his ultimate gives him more AD AND more range.

Damage steroids. Carries have them.

3- Tryndamere- 15% is not a huge gap, he doesn't have to buy it, doesn't deal reduced crit damage AND gets more AD as he loses HP.

Yasuo's crit damage is reduced by 10%, until 6, his only damage steroid is double crit chance, which he won't have at level 1, and might not even have at 6 if he has to build mr items. At 6, his bonus armor pen is limited to critical strikes... bonus armor pen, so it does NOTHING against squishies and only works with his crit passive which won't be at 100% till end of lane phase at least. AND he is also melee, so he has to be in threat range of anyone and everyone to deal his damage.
