Does anyone even buy Frozen Heart?

I remember being one of the best tank items and had huge impact on team fights.

Now I can't remember the last time I got the thing. I believe it was 2-3 seasons ago. Didn't get it this season, or the last and maybe in season 6, but it was still weak even then.

It used to be good because it gave 100 armour (Fucking huge and impactfull back then), 20% cdr (Only few bruiser/tank items had it),mana (Great build-path for mana hungry champions) and 25% attack speed reduction (old one). If you managed to get thins thing none of the aa champions could kill you easily if they didn't commit to some armor pen.

Now it's one of the worst tank items around. 100 armour? is better.

Mana? and gives dmg.

Cdr? Fuck that everything gives you cdr.

Attack speed slow? give it too and most will kill you before the 3rd aa without hp.

I feel like the attack speed slows are far too irrelevant in the current climate, especially considering that Guinsoo's basically shits on anything punishing attack speed since it circumvents it entirely.

Problem being that it doesn't provide any HP which is suicidal right now because of the amount of true damage - namely conqueror and such.

I only build it when the enemy team has a Vayne since the ONLY counterplay to the dumbest thing in the game, %hp true damage, is slowing it down.

I often get it on Taric when I'm against auto reliant teams. I get it almost every game on Natuilus and Maokai in solo lanes. I get it almost every game on Trundle jungle.

On Nasus. I never buy it on Darius or Garen (juggernauts) because HP is really needed. Darius will heal more, Garen's passive will heal more, both based on hp. Moreover, true damage is common, so pure armor isn't really the best option. Hp also helps vs magic damage whereas pure armor does not. Also a lot of champs these days don't use mana or do not run out of it during a fight(as their kit is simply a burst kit, think wukong), so +400 mana is wasted.

I get it on Anivia for the extra mana, and resistances. Plus, with transcendence and Archangel, it gives a tonne of AP as well. It's actually saved me in a 1v1 against a Camille, and I just know that extra aura effect helps in team fights slightly.

No Because neither tanks nor fighters get enough hp for them to use Frozen heart well or armor from other items Supplement their defense. In my opinion item 3143 stats suck too much to consider buying item 3075 stats and Passives suck too much You dont even need this to do anything to bruisers but it does nothing to adcs because they removed the damage reflect. 250 hp was not enough to make up Removing 20 armor when the change was supposed to buff the item and they removed its 2 best portions before the stuff they added the amount of armor it had and the damage reflect it had.

I buy it all the time. Works extremely well with item 3003 item 3004 builds, or champs like Pyke who cannot gain HP.

It's a major item on the following champs, imo:

Anivia Evelynn Cassiopeia Morgana Nami Pyke Ornn Sona Sejuani TahmKench

And you can counter its lack of stats by running Transcendence. Then it's a 52 AP item.

Sometimes it's the only item you can get to stay on pace with damage while negating "SOME" of the AD damage coming at you, which allows you to assassinate someone who would kill you before they can.

For example, Evelynn vs Sivir or Evelynn vs Tristana or Evelynn vs Lucian when the adcs are fed beyond what Evelynn can deal with if she doesn't have a charm to rely on.

a lot of top pyke players will rush it in conjunction with cleaver for the mana sustain and tankiness it provides him

I get it to cap CDR if I run triforce because RG just doesn't do it for me.
