@Riot, WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO ADDRESS MELEE CHAMPIONS?

Legit I am so sick of this anti-melee champion bullshit you guys have been on for years. For example, I play wukong and I get quinn as a match, an adc who really shouldn't be top but because long range champions are busted she has nothing to fear going top. I can't get near her without being blasted into fucking all hell. Then when I finally fucking get to her, the minion agro is so much bullshit that they are doing more damage to me then she is. Meanwhile she is fucking nice and safe, across the field, poking the fuck out of me while my minions don't even acknowledge her. Like what fucking bullshit is it that long range champions are doing fucking melee level damage, get to play safe, can sustain for fucking ever, and go in any lane because they have not one fucking thing to worry about.

I'm sorry for the language, but as someone who plays melee champions because long range champions dont require any mechanics or thought and are super unhealthy for this game, I can't stand the fact that at every turn we get shat on. Mage fighting you? Get blasted into all hell while being stunned from a mile away with no ability to cross the field to do any damage worthy of the risk. Adc fighting you? lol get melted. Like can we at least give melee champions some level of equality in this game?

It's the current state of things right now, unfortunately. Us Melee-players (I'm a top-lane main and I see ranged champs there all the time too) have our work cut out for us right now. Perhaps when the damage-creep changes that are currently forecasted in the upcoming 7.4 patch arrive, we might (Operative word being might) have a relief. I realize the damage-creep changes will affect us as well, but as long as you play a champ that has good base stats, I don't think you really have to worry.

Minor edit, fixed a sentence that wasn't actually complete.

Yeah Riot, why don't you already delete all melee champions?

This guy is right, melee sucks balls, that's exactly why this guy plays melee champions like wukong!

Wukong should be able to Q across the map, and stick to his target, and be immune to cc.

I mean, C'mon Riot, these aren't unreasonable demands! WTF RIOT, C'MON ALREADY!!!!!

While i do believe the OP is exaggerating, it's not like hes wrong.

Melees inherently are worse than ranged due to simple range. The only way they can make up for that is insane mobility (yasuo, camille, etc), or with stat checking the shit outta them.

However, because of this, melee on melee combat is a clusterfuck since all of them have to be so strong just to be able to deal with ranged champs. At the same time, anytime they are able to apply their kits to ranged champs, they delete them, due to the nature of how hard they have to hit, and how tanky they have to inherently be by comparison.

The absolute advantage that ranged champs have skews the balance of melees

Ranged champs do require thought. Quinn as an example. You don't just spam your entire combo like some brainless melee assassin, you weave autos in between abilities to get more passive procs. One combo looks like this: (Assuming valor marked champ first) Auto, E, Auto, Q, Auto.

  • First auto procs the first mark.

  • E sets another mark

  • Second auto procs second mark, procs thunderlords( If you took it.)

  • Q sets another mark, more damage, blinds them.

  • Third auto procs third mark, hopefully, the target dies at this point.

For an analysis on your match-up with Quinn, how often did she use her E to harass you? Her E is her only escape, using it for harass is very risky, especially if you jg plans to gank her. You can also stealth and jump on her with your own combo, especially if she just blew her E. You could also pick Pantheon into her, he is an absolute hellish lane opponent for Quinn.

The thing with ranged top-laners is that they are often incredibly squishy during the laning phase. Pick champs that can force early engagements, and don't take free harass from them, keep trading with them.
