Destructible terrain

Could this be a possibility sometime in the future? Maybe a champion with an ult that can maybe damage/destroy walls? (Obviously not Dragon or Baron pit)

Some Riot input on this matter would be nice?

It could offer a different strategy and would be something huge and new. I made a post a few weeks ago but got no notice, so you could call this a re-post.

Originally, I proposed a Malphite rework where his ult could possibly permanently destroy a section of a wall that he passes through. I think it would be a nice addition to the game, obviously not every champion would have this, maybe one or two? Something to give new life to the jungle (Or destruction in this case).

Riot, Summoners, any thoughts? :)

It would be really cool, but it's one of those mechanics the game would have needed to be designed around from the start.

Making terrain destructible means you need death animations for the terrain components, you need more modular terrain so it isn't 2,000 different custom pieces of terrain with custom deaths, you need some level of terrain-pathing logic per piece, and you'd need a decent number of abilities to interact with terrain.

I'm not sure you'd want terrain to be permanently destroyed either - as that would encourage someone like Malphite to essentially mine the jungle with his ult for the first half of a game to get a lot of routes down.

And being able to destroy terrain itself would be extremely valuable, so any champions with such a capacity would likely be picked very frequently unless an entire archetype had such a capacity. Wall jumps for your entire team > wall jump for yourself.

They could bypass the odd of Malphite farming wall destruction by making his ult longer, though it's already pretty long as it is. Waiting a minimum of 2 minutes per ult. Besides, wasting your ult on just destroying walls would be counter-productive. I was thinking it would be more of an aesthetic effect, but it could very well have strategic value.

I was also debating bringing up damageable terrain but that would be overkill. I was bring this up in regards to Season 6 coming up. Usually, Riot brings some new stuff into the jungle and I thought this would be a neat addition.

Technically you can pass through walls with Bard's Magical Journey and Rek'Sai's tunnels. But that's probably the limit.

Yeah, but it leaves no real impact on the environment. I was thinking smashing walls to the point that anyone could walk through it afterwards.
