PSA on reporting players

You don't NEED to tell the player that you're reporting them.

You need to even less so say it like 15 times. We get it, you're mad. No one gives a shit. Some of us are trying to focus on the game and don't feel like needing to mute you because you're having beef like 10-year old children. Saying you're reporting more often doesn't make them MORE reported.

Reported.

Adding to that, saying you're reporting someone, as well as asking for reports from other people in the game are both actually grounds for you yourself to be punished. The system only requires one report to review the game, and as such, asking for more counts as harassment

I actually find that telling a toxic player once, during game that I will be reporting them as a result of ______ often stops the behaviour pretty quickly.

They will often quip back something like "reports don't work", but I'll just say something like "then you won't mind being reported" and the behaviour usually ends there.

PSA:

  1. Threatening to report people IS BANNABLE.

  2. Asking other people to report a player IS BANNABLE

  3. Having a bad game is NOT BANNABLE

  4. Breaking the meta is NOT BANNABLE

Contrary to popular beleif everyone who has ever threatened to report has never gotten me as much as a warning message from Riot.

Contrary to popular belief I dont report people that often unelss they are being toxic, and almost all of them have lead to punishments bein dolled out.

Moral of the story: the more you threat and rage in chat the happier I am because I know you are only getting yourself harsher punishments :)

And then let's add the fact they're just gonna get banned themselves.

I will admit to often telling someone I am going to report them in post game as a way of expressing that I think they crossed the line. But I only do it once, and only in post game, so I don't think I bother anyone.

I tend to notice that the players who often get reported claim to say they won't get banned or warned or punished at all. When someone says that they'll report them, the toxic player gets even more toxic, and so far, out of all the notifications I have gotten of my report going through and punishing the toxic player, the ones that have worked were the ones where the toxic player is told that they'll be reported.

I stopped asking others to report a player. I haven't done that since 2012, and I have pretty much just put the player on mute and reported them at the end of the game. I'm glad that I rarely had to do that up until this year, and now, I am pretty disappointed, because it seems that many players (at least in the Bronze to Silver tiers) tend to be extremely toxic.

that is true, but if someone is doing something to you, you dont want them to think they are getting away with it with no consequences
