Good mages (not ryze)
So I was thinking about picking Lissandra up, OR Taliyah, but what other mage mid laners are good? Before you ask I already have Lux.

Vel'Koz - long range burst can insta kill an entire team when positioned correctly...
Lissandra is amazing because even if you lose your lane your raw cc will help your team win every fight
I'd go with Viktor. He can play from behind and does crazy damage.
Also Ziggs is pretty damn fun.
All of them are good, depends on the playstyle you want though.
Midlane Zyra can be strong, Karthus does insane single target damage and Orianna is a really strong laner.
The Rylai's nerf made Taliyah really bad, so you may or may not want to avoid her for however long she is left in this state, i'm pretty sure Riot is making some changes for her right now, along with maybe a few other Rylai's mages.
LeBlanc and Vladimir are very strong mid lane mages.
Apparently Syndra is "too op"
