When are the Janna and Soraka reworks?

It couldn't come soon enough, these champions are so unhealthy and I know they're due for reworks in the support update but jesus christ when is that going to happen?

"They're due for reworks in the support update"? Has riot actually indicated that they have any intention of actually reworking either of them?

They both have pretty well defined niches (the peel god and the healing god respectively), and at least in rakas case I'm pretty sure I've seen rioters imply they weren't planning on changing those identities.

Yes in the grand support update, every support champion will receive a moderate to major kit overhaul to make them more appealing to the masses because support is an unpopular role with boring champions.

Everything I've seen is more along the lines of they do want to look into the support role and try to make it more appealing, but they haven't really gone into any detail in how they're going to go about that. And meanwhile for the big class updates, they've said they plan on only doing a small amount (e.g. 4) of major reworks so they can make sure they do a good job of really focusing on them amongst other reasons, so for them to turn around and try to rework every support champion seems insanely impractical and contrary to the direction they've been going lately.

They haven't said it but you need to understand Riot's mentality, okay?

Riot will rework every and any champion and role periodically and Soraka goes against their design philosophy in the fact she has point and click abilities.

I just want them to update her so she isn't cancer by making her point and click heal a skill shot and removing her global entirely, as globals are unhealthy.

Considering raka is like the second most recently updated conventional support champion (taric being most recent), she actually strikes me as one of the least likely to get reworked.

I suspect when they do their support update, it won't actually change support kits much if at all, and instead will be more around giving better recognition for supports doing the things they already do and/or tweaks to gameplay mechanics so they don't 'feel' behind as often.

And of course support champions are impacted with the various class updates, so when/if they do an enchanter class update, janna/raka would likely be heavily impacted, but tbh I find the enchanters to be pretty good in terms of uniqueness compared to various other classes.

She's not getting reworked. Globals aren't getting removed. They just reworked her, she isn't getting another one. She's fine and what you're saying is most likely a soraka nerf lol, which seeing as how she's NEVER played right now probably won't happen. She's fine where she is, you have to remember she's a 450 ip champ meant for bronzies.

Soraka: no. She's been reworked several times and is in a stable spot as "I heal and that's mostly it." You not liking her does not mean she's unhealthy. Janna: probably. She hasn't had a proper update that wasn't just Better Nerf Janna™ in a long, long time.

Also, don't make shit up. You have no idea when the support roster update is going to happen, let alone who's going to be in it. You having "been here since S2" does not magically give you a listening device in Riot HQ.

Soraka doesn't really need a huge rework.

She could use some minor tweaks to make her capable of doing more than one thing every game and the whole grievous wounds system is still a colossal train wreck, but overall her design works reasonably well.
