Ryze needs another rework.

The three main things riot complains about are built into his kit.

the game has too much mobility- remember why we lost boot enchantments? But its ok for this guy to get a mini ghost every couple spells. oh, and a team teleport that can carry minions etc, for turret dives/seige.
There are too many shields in the game- but every couple spells he gets a free one, which can keep stacking- and oh wait, he scales off mana and AP so ROA and Seraphs hit like a truck
point and click CC- yep. its fun to be snared every 3 seconds.

On top of everything, he gets cooldowns for landing spells. WHY

Statistically, yes, you do. Ryze has the second lowest winrate in Platinum+ and very low winrates across the board. Those who have more than 50 games on him, however, do much better with him, having win-rates of 55%+ with him once they pass that threshold. He is overloaded, but you need to get good to play him.

that is why he for the longest time had one of the lowest winrates in the game, I guess the entire playerbase is just bad

Problem with that is once you learn how to play him he eclipses every other mid in** the game** beside maybe 2 or 3 others.

Agreed, but I'm ok with it. If someone's willing to learn all they can about a champion for 50+ games and destroy me with that champ's insane potential, I think that's fair. It's similar to Riven, or Lee Sin.

Maybe they should pull a here and make his combos do different things depending on the order of the combo (make the root a specific result of the combo rather than part of the combo itself). It will require a brand new W but maybe that's OK.

With 3 basic abilities, there are 6 different combinations possible. (QWE, QEW) (WQE, WEQ) (EQW, EWQ)

1 combo for single target burst damage 1 combo for shield/movespeed 1 combo for root (or stun?) 1 combo for wave clear 1 combo for AoE damage 1 combo to restore mana

You had a Zac on your team and you couldn't shut down Ryze? Early game for Ryze is hell with his demanding mana costs and lack of AP items for mana items. The game you played was just an unlucky game. Your Zac sucked.
