Very bad

Would you rather have a zed or Ahri on your team?

Ult is unreliable, assassinated slow, no resets, w is clunky, ult reliant

He's basically a "mechanics" gimmick champ atm

AyRe CoNteMpT1 votes

neither of them. can i have a victor please?

Telemachus73 votes

if they have a squishy team, hes good. but in the tank meta, he doesnt stand a chance

stealthfox943 votes

I thought he was overrated when everyone was crying how OP he was. He's only good in the right hands, most people don't know how to play him.

Drunk Rummate3 votes

It's like picking a pantheon. Oppressive early game, but even with 30 kills he's pretty worthless once lategame rolls around as it inevitably does.

Considering the meta is all about teamfighting in the mid-late game right now, yeah Zed is pretty bad.

ShuffledPancake2 votes

no.

BeatzBoyFTW2 votes

The current Zed seemed a lil clunky especially with his 1 second delay recast ult, plus the fact that the Tank Meta really pushed him off the edge.

s LessThanThree2 votes

Black Cleaver changes making it much less efficient on him, coupled with the ult nerf, as well as the meta changes that do not favor him, I would say yes he's in a rough spot right now. I main Zed and when the enemy picks 4 squishies or very low CC comps I can still clean house but most of the time picking Zed is not a good idea as tanks and peel will just make him useless. You're far better off with a long range aoe poke mage like Azir Xerath Viktor Ezreal Kogmaw

Earl Eulrich2 votes

not much changed about him...laning and 1v1 (splitpush) he´s oppressive as ever, teamfights he´s only as strong as the one playing him (if you want to see how strong a zed can be lategame despite everyone running zonias or qss watch some of alexIchs or xpekes zed games, they are miles ahead of bjergsen).

Arsames2 votes

Yes, he has gotten a lot of nerfs and the last nerf, ruined his playmaking capability. That 1 sec delay on R swap killed him, ignored in LCS and famous/high elo Zed players rarely play him.

Stars Shaper2 votes

Dat attack speed nerf, Zed up now gg, would lcs again.

Arsames1 votes

You don't even know what Zed's last nerf was and you failed to read my post properly, no wonder you are stuck in silver for 2 entire seasons: http://euw.op.gg/summoner/userName=Stars+Shaper

  1. I don't liek being elo boosted (typo intended)

  2. I don't like ranked environment in general since it's polluted with ppl like you

  3. While ofc it would seem like I didn't read about the Ult delay I just wanted to make a fun/trollish reply because I don't like Zed but like a lot making fun of him

  4. I got more upvotes than you, g3tr3kd

Arsames1 votes
  1. Why don't you carry yourself and your team to high elo? oh right, you can't. kek.

  2. "I play a competitive game, but don't like competition! We should all be friends, we are all equal" rofl, a losers mentality, your ranked stats reflect this pretty accurately. Go play ARAM and Team builder like most fr00bz do :D

  3. Of course you don't like Zed, bad players don't like high skill cap mech0nix intensive champs like Zed Yasuo LeeSin Nidalee Riven Vayne Kalista Thresh

  4. Upvotes? rofl, I don't care about autistic upvote system. I am a gamer, I play to pwn, not to collect upvotes on a board.

Stars Shaper1 votes

Ok I'll try to be serious and clear in my answers

  1. Meh, in a team game I'd like to play with a team and not carrying ppl who sh*t on me to victory.

  2. I am still competitive, I play to win in normals (and get flamed for it ._.) and give my best. I also don't believe that ranked is a necessity to deomnstrate skill level or what. I'd probably try to get to Gold if the Victorious skin is of some1 of my mains or champion I like.

  3. I explained myself bad there. I don't like the archetype of Zed being "the rebellous disciple and so he must be cool" and mostly I don't like his fanbase. I like a LOT Yasuo (played him since release) and I like facing most of the guys/gals you posted (and I do believe Nidalee is kinda in weak spot, a fed Nidalee can't do much in lategame from my experience being against her)

  4. That was purely a troll comment. I don't actually care about upvotes but I got surprised when I checked my lifetime ones xD

Edit: About Zed again, he is a character I wanted to learn because mechanic wise I think he is going to be strong no matterwhat but he really isn't in my "strings". I don't feel like I enjoy playing him.

Arsames1 votes
  1. If you want to depend on your team and play with a team, start or join a ranked 5v5 team, that is the only scenario in which you have a real team. Solo Q is not a team game, Solo Q is cancer and you are on your own, you need to be able to carry your team and the game, that is the requirement for Solo Q.

  2. I played 2 normal (draft) games yesterday, in which a challenger 1 lost to a patinum 5 and the other game a master 1 adc main lost to a gold 5 non-adc main. Normals are not competitive, most people don't take normals serious, they just play it for fun and testing and trolling. The only competition in this game is in Ranked game mode, this is a fact.

  3. Zed is not a "rebellious disciple", this is a misconception of people who quickly read his lore. If you read Zeds lore and that of the Kinkou order and its survivors (Shen, Kennen, Akali), you will understand that the "Kinkou order" was not the original Ninja order. They imprisoned whatever was in that box and supressed knowledge of those techniques, Zed was exposed to the truth and destroyed an order that was mainly focused on balance. Balance is a lie, the order of shadows are the true ninjas. Ionia is full of tyrants that kill anything and anyone who endangers "balance", whatever they perceive balance to be. Syndra was abused as a little girl, put in a prison and slowly brainwashed and mentally sealed and experimented on, for what? for the sake of balance. Zed and Syndra are heroes, not villians. Take a look at Yasuo, he didn't kill the elder, yet Ionian ruling order wants him punished/dead without real evidence and because of that Yasuo was forced to kill his own brother.

Ionia is a great place, I like the art and love a lot of champs from Ionia, I just dislike the hypocrite tyranny of balance and the vanguards of balance Irelia Karma .

  1. Ok

@EDIT: That was true when he could instant swap with R, Zed has clunky mechanics after the nerf and that is why he dropped out of LCS meta, the R 1 sec CD killed him off in competitive.

Nice to see some1 who cares about Lore as much as me (when it's about liked champs xD). I did know 70% of what you wrote, and what I can say is that being good or evil at that point is a matter of perception: was it good to lock away a dangerous skill which could have caused more damages then goods? It's hypotethical but it's really not a bad decision inherently.

About the political Ionians and what happened with Yasuo and Zed, both must be seen as enemies for them. One actually sloughtered a lot of ppl, be it for right or wrong it's a criminal behavior. The other is suspected of a major crime and Ionians have little proof of him not being the culpript (Except that it could be Riven or even Janna but even Yasuo isn't sure about Riven).

They both are tragic characters and there is no black and white situation about them, one can side with one of the parties but can't say "I am absolutely right".

About Zed mechanics: Probably more cluncky but more what an assa should be, this is the reason I like Talon more, by a maybe approximative look he has an easy time in all-ins or all-outs but not both at the same time. Assassins like him and Zed should be careful in target selection because they must kill in ambush to create an advantage for the team. High risk high reward.

I can understand that perspective regarding Zed, they can hunt down Zed, Zed welcomes it and caused it with his own actions. How they treat Yasuo is absolutely retarded, Yasuo is innocent. Just because wind technique attacks were used to kill the elder and Yasuo was known for wind technique, they automatically see him as guilty. Yasuo's innocense is well reflected in his intro, he only defends himself from others attacking him: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-5CJ1PgVrU

Stars Shaper1 votes

Knowing the deal from outside we can't be biased ofc. But that's different from Ionia. They live under a philosophy/law which is similar to what eastern cultures had during the warring times. Yasuo is first of all guilty of abandoning his post which adds to the suspect that he is the killer.

Even Yone, his brother, had no other explanations and they fought an honorable yet deadly battle. Yasuo itself feels the guilt for killing his brother and put himself in exile 'till his honor is restored by unveiling the truth. He is an honorable warrior who will not just "cry" for him being innocent. It's his fault that the elder died and he cannot be forgiven (nor by himself) untill he makes up for it.

ARAM

Stopped reading there. ARAM is for fr00bz and irrelevant to game balance.

Zed is not bad. Not even close to being bad. He is however much more balanced than before his ult change.

I mean why should you be able to fully commit yet not commit at all?

Rinky Dinky2 votes

lmfao Zed is fine

Sxli1 votes

He isnt bad. Just dont pick him into a team full of tanks. His ult isn`t really a big deal for me though, I happen to like the changes. I think with the ult change it just raised the skill cap a bit to separate the good Zeds from average Zeds.

But in the current meta he`s just in a rough spot. All assassins are.

Masked Lunatic1 votes

If you learn how to play him (when to jump in + predict how much damage you can do + threat perception etc) and tactically build him (depending on the other team) he does pretty well. I typically prefer going top zed while going full lifesteal + ad it lets me split push late game and it keeps me farming (and alive) early while allowing for me to trade sufficiently until i can combo them to death.

Though this current meta kinda screws with him seeing as he's completely countered by a nicely timed zhonyas and the all so common: tanks. This means he can be countered in any position lane wise (and yes zed can be played in all roles... though its not advised to go supp / adc / jungle unless you're a diehard zed player).

Stars Shaper1 votes

He killed his master and his companions because he was butthurt because of Shen. I guess you can call him bad.
