Looking at the statistics in high elo, the top ten spots for most kills on average... at least eight are assassins. Not sure what Jayce counts as, if I'm being entirely honest...

Anyway, their win rates aren't the best but they're still killing things and shit.

What I've heard is that Jayce starts as a fighter, and becomes mostly a poke assassin in late game. So, I guess he counts?

Damn. You're right. at this time last year Assassins could still kill things, Mages were completely useless. Atleast the best tanks aren't Fiora Graves anymore though

Honestly mages were never really completely useless. It was literally just another boards circlejerk claiming that they were shit when they really weren't. Mages have always been in a viable/decent spot for the most part.

Mages have never been weak in ANY season. ANY. The fact that they deal AP dmg and that MR items are complete tripe makes them always strong.

Tanks kill mages, since they stack HP. Once a mage uses their combo they're spent till their CDs are back up, so they rely on killing their opponents in one combo. Tanks are allegedly killing ADCs too, which is something I must have missed. ADCs kill assassins, but they kill tanks too with their sustained damage. They kill mages too if they dodge the skillshots, since they aren't gated by CDs. Assassins can still kill the ADC and they kill mages pretty easily.

So basically, everyone just kills everyone in this giant clown fiesta, right?

Cassiopeia , Lissandra , Morgana , Vladimir , Orianna , unless fed don't do kill an enemy in one rotation.

TBF Cass and Vlad don't really count because Cass doesn't even have rotations and Vlad is a drain tank, meaning he isn't meant to kill in one rotation.

Morg also ins't balanced around mid lane, she is balanced around support so she also isn't designed to kill in one rotation.

Ori can most certainly kill in one rotation late game as she is late game oriented.

Liss is the only mage there that is a decent example.

You are trying to apply standards to champions that for the most part are designed around being outside those standards.

Really only if she is fed though. As someone who got to gold on mid Morg I find that combo will rarely 100-0. Her ult added in might 100-0 if she gets both hits off and is on equal power as her opponent.

She can definitely 80-0 with Q>W late game, but due to how her W works I find it will pretty much never 100-0.

Well, I also use Ignite, so I don't find it too difficult to kill enemies in one rotation. I kinda Auto-Attack a lot with her tho (I find it funny how much damage they deal) xD

In general I don't like to count that in unless it is a part of their kit (Like Vik or Diana) because most mage burst combos are meant to kill without it. (Annie, Syndra, etc.)

It is like how I dislike counting protobelt as part of a champion's damage combo because it is something any champion can build so their personal damage shouldn't be balanced around it. If they are a champ that always buys the item and they are doing too much damage with it but normal damage without it then the item is what needs nerfs, and other champions that suffer from the item nerfs need buffs.

Yeah that actually happened when I fought a Lux as Naut, whooped her ass good. Tanks are good for dealing enough damage to ADC's or mages to put them in critical health, but some ADC's Namely vayne and other tank killers can ruined with like it's knowing.

If it's late game enough that Lux has 1k AP somehow, then the tank you're trying to kill has 5k HP. If he manages to do the impossible and somehow step to the side and avoid your spells, he's gonna go in dry for the next 30 seconds and kill ya. Even if he doesn't, you're tickling him

I said 1k AP dmg from her ult. Never said she had 1K AP. Lux has high AP ratios and thanks to her passive proccing TLD easily, she can output an insane amount of dmg at a go. It's no wonder she's the most played mid champ currently. She doesn't delete tanks but with her shield and hard CC on low CD, she can kill them relatively easily no doubt.

1k magic damage* then lol. That seems like I'm being a grammar nazi but saying 1k AP damage makes it sound like she has a thousand ability power to do damage with her ult. Which would do less than 1k damage actually, since her ult has a 75% AP scaling. So what you're meaning to say is that her combo can do 1k magic damage, not just her ult. Which is totally accurate! Just clarifying.

Anyway, her Q is one of the easiest spells to dodge in the game. You can usually land them in the confusion of teamfights as long as you aren't the initiator, which lets you set up the ult + TLDs + passive damage, and a lich bane auto for the proc of sheen and your passive again to deal insane burst damage. But in a 1v1 there's just no way you're landing that Q.

What I usually do is throw the E out when we're close; since it's a slow, it makes it easier to land the Q. And since they want to get out of the zone to avoid damage, they run in one direction, setting up an easy Q hit. So you E, Q, AA, E detonate, ult, AA. That's the ideal combo but it's not always possible against a mobile enemy, in which case you settle for just the E, Q, ult, E detonate.

Since outside of that combo she is completely and utterly useless, aka gated by CDs, she relies on using that combo to win fights. Against a tank that combo won't be enough. It'll take them down to maybe half HP if you're fed. Tanks beat burst mages, that's just the rock-paper-scissors aspect of how Riot designed the game. HP > burst.

Nautilus is honestly pretty powerful. He is a CC machine, and is incredibly hard to kill between CotC and his own shield.

Can't speak about the others, except Malphite. Honestly, Malphite's problem is that he can't abuse CotC as well as other tanks, because only his ult can activate it.

I would also mention Rammus too. He is an armor oriented tank, but unlike Malphite, he can abuse CotC pretty well with his taunt and his knockup. Also, he is a pretty good counter to some of the most hated/complained about champions, namely Riven, Yasuo, and Tryndamere. Unlike Poppy, he can't just be blindpicked, because he is hard countered by APs (and he hates when he is forced to itemize for MR). However, he has a niche over Poppy in that he is better than her against full AD teams.
