Riot, I use item sets a ton. I play mostly a single champion at a time and usually figure out through experience exactly what I want on a list. It's was faster than typing each item. It's way faster than using the category view.
Please don't remove this from the game. It's a loss of a good feature.
I would suggest trying Championify. It won't let you do your own personal builds (least I don't think so) but it will let you import the most built set and highest win rate set for each champion in their normal roles right into the in game shop. It also gives about 10 suggested items for champs if a situation in game calls for something different. They have other builds too like the most popular Korean builds if that is more your style. With this add on (that Riot allows players to use) I doubt you'd ever need item sets anymore, this should cover it all for you;)
