Current Tanks/Burst Meta Is Frustrating (Opinion/Help?)

Don't want to give my life story but recently came back to the game after being away a year or two. Loving the Runes Reforged system, but it feels like it (or the culmination of patches since I left?) has created a meta where burst damage is just incredibly powerful. Tanks manage to circumvent it with keystones and certain items they still do fairly strong damage while often living long enough to escape (or push through) even a well orchestrated CC chain. This 1-2 punch is in my experience putting "mid-liners" be it certain fighters, supports, or whatever else in a precarious situation. While not tanks these roles might have previously been "expected" by riot in their kit design to eat a few hits in the process of performing their role, now it is very difficult to do so without facing risk of deletion by a mage/assassin or getting chased by a tank who has zero fear of your sustained damage, CC, or utility.

Anecdotally, I remember in previous seasons being able to eat a Thresh or Blitz hook for my ADC on Bard and after the trade was done I still had a healthy 30-40% hp remaining. Now, even when majoring/minoring in resolve and picking up tank items the squishiness is real and can only be circumvented by playing far more passively than I'd personally consider enjoyable (especially as someone who greatly enjoys the active support kleptomancy playstyle). Playing a pokey Lulu or Karma felt similarly limited. In contrast I can hop on #2 support (Zyra, who I'm not nearly as good with) and shred due to stronger "safe damage" and all-in response.

Anyway, I'm only a gold player so certainly not a meta expert, but was wondering A) has Riot said anything in regards to this "midliners dilemma" or B) if anyone else has experienced this what have you done (aside from playing more passive) to adapt?

Mostly because most of the champion has lost their early game stats from previous rune system. "Armor" and "Magic resistance". I, myself as a casual support player who likes to use healing-orientated champions that helps teammate like: Sona Soraka Nami Lulu Janna

Before the new rune reforge system, those mentioned champions used to dominate the game with ardent censer build. But after the ardent censer nerf and "Bonus" stat gone, it's doomed to the most of us.

Why? Champion like Alistar Leona BlitzcrankTaric , the tanker that receives more armor than healing support are powerful with their engage and their high best combo damage + new Aftershock damage with bonus defence + a possible ignite from their support + adc's skill burst. I can't imagine how those "support" to survive besides burning their summoner 4 summoner 7 spells.

Yes, I know as I am a normal Sona player shouldn't cry for the nerf. Because she used to dominate the game, however, that doesn't mean she deserve the heavy nerfs. I feel so sad and heartbroken as I could hardly use her to enjoy the game. (People often complains about Sona's high damage poke, but they don't realize how low is Sona's base armor in early game.)

A tanker is supposedly to be a tanker, a support is supposedly to be a support. Neither of them should deal tons of damage.

It's probably the game is too fast-paced for me, every champion deals like big tons of damage against anyone. It's either survive or die.. Sorry for the emotional rants, but I honestly hope I could play my favorite champion again in ranked game.
