Why is Manamune so damn inefficient compared to Archangel's?

item 3070 15% mana returned, 4 mana per charge, also no longer grants the passive mana overtime item 300325% mana returned, gains 34% more AP compared to base, 8 mana per charge item 3004 15% mana returned (unchanged), 4 mana per charge (unchanged), 0% AD gain compared to base

**It is also worth telling that it takes too much time to load, while item 3003 might turn into item 3040 in less than 4 minutes with some effort, while item 3004 turns into item 3042 at least 15 minutes later (or more). ** My only problem with item 3004 is that it takes too much time to load, and attacking to charge it means nothing, either make the passive charge have less cooldown or make it gain 5-6 mana per cast-attack, it takes too much time for this item to reach it's power spike even when I find myself spamming powers at the air just to get it done quickly.

AD is always more expensive than AP

....what AD item is more expensive than deathcap?

Are you joking?

item 3089 - 3800g - 162 AP by itself. +35% bonus AP from all other sources

item 3072 - 3600g - 75 AD

AD is more than double the cost

Can you explain in detail?

I just did

item 3089 - 23g per AP

item 3072 - 48g per AD

I mean you can't really compare those items considering Bloodthirster has so much of its value in its lifesteal and passive shield. I think the best AD vs AP comparison is pretty simply Amp Tome vs Long Sword.

And Rabadon's has no value in the +35% AP stat? What?

Of course it does. You've already partly factored that in. Point is that you're comparing an item that gives one stat (AP) with an item that gives two stats and a unique passive. Assuming 35% AP on other items is equal to 20% LS and a unique passive is stupid. You have no way to know if they're equal in value. If you did Deathcap versus Infinity Edge it's be slightly better but you're still just getting that the damage amp those items have are equal in value.

As I said it's best to just use the basic components. Amp Tome is just AP, Long Sword is just AD. Why complicate things with completed items with passives/other stats?

Plus, the idea is that you're attacking more often than casting spells.

yeah, and still takes a shit lot of a time to charge, and in practice we know it doesn't work that way because that is rito assuming you will be in lane fighting always instead of roaming or searching for an ambush.... it's BS

Here's something - why don't you stay in your lane and farm it up if you buy the item instead of roam in search of an ambush? You really can't complain about an item being bad if you don't give it the proper setting to flourish in. If you know you're going to be roaming, don't take Manamune if you know you can't charge it without farming.

Why is Manamune so damn inefficient compared to Archangel's?

Probably because Seraph's Embrace is so lackluster compared to Muramana.

you should blame the 1 adc that abuses every item

yeah fuck him, thats why we can't have nice things

I don't understand what you mean by "gains 34% more AP compared to base" and " 0% AD gain compared to base".

Anyways, Archangel's staff costs 30% more than Manamune. This in turn means you get a power spike with Manamune way before the Archangel's. And usually, as someone else said, AAs are more frequent than spells (with some exception: try it on Singed's Q).
