Does your rank not taken into account in normals or draft?
Because I'm not at plat or diamond level and I'm sure as hell not enjoying being shit on by them either.

3 of your past 20 games have had a platinum player in them, once on your team, twice on the enemy's. all 3 games you won.

there is a big difference between a plat player and a diamond player. The diamond player took a dumb on us, but my question was simply does rank get taken into account for normals or draft.
There's never been a diamond player in any of your ranked games. The only game that shows having a diamond player in the last 20 was a normal, which again, you won.
To answer your question though, what division you're in is irrelevant to matchmaking, your MMR is what matters. Normal and ranked have two separate mmrs. There was a player with diamond mmr in bronze that was queued with other diamond players.
edit: there was a normal just now which wasn't showing up before where there was a diamond and a plat player on the enemy team, but your team had 2 plats and a diamond player. matchmaking tries to keep the mmr on both teams as even as possible, which in normal games where anyone can queue with anyone else, it makes things more difficult.
Rank is never taken into account, not even in the Ranked Queue. The match-making algorithm uses the MMR (literally Match-Making Rating) instead, not the Rank directly.
On top of that, Normals and Ranked have a separate MMR, so you can be matched with players from wildly different Ranks in Normal Games. For instance, I'm matched with generally high-Bronze players in Normals, whereas I'm low-Gold in Ranked.
