Thought's on support?

I am kinda asking every question here. Do you play support? why/why not thoughts when playing with a support? as I have said on several occasions I main supports. I own the following and I am at least lv 2 on all of themSoraka Janna Morgana Taric Zilean. sorta. I don't own morgana,i was about to buy her but she got in free rotation so I can do it later and maybe get Nasus or something to use my arch duke nasus shard. your also the glue. the very strong covering glue that blocks a ton of toxic stuff like 'gg we got no sup' or something cause when there is no support that's like setting oil on fire or something,a rather harmless and small thing but one wrong step and that's exploding. I basically grab support every time nobody picks it. and that's how I have owned Pantheon for a week and only used him twice. or once really as the second one was on ARAM like I had a choice.[slayer-jinx-unamused]

nobody picks support

The Support Role is the only one of the five that has an entirely different purpose than the other 4. You earn gold differently and your primary functions actually change from one phase of the game to another.

Most people don't understand the Supports true purpose, nor do they respect how robust the role actually is. Largely due to the fact that much of what a good support does well never shows up in any metric or statistic.

true roles purpose: light the jungle up like a fucking christmas tree, and peel like a bundle of bananas

You can't water down what a Support should be in such begine terms. Peeling isn't even a primary function of the role.

Vision Control, Objective Control, Wave Management, Minimap Awareness, Enemy Tracking, and "Flow of the Game" Understanding are all far more important than your ability to peel.

I'm pretty ok(ish) at support when autofilled and usually go Orianna

My thoughts on the role are well..yea, it's an important role. While "ADCs have a bad early game!" is such a huge lie Twitch Draven Lucian Caitlyn Quinn (heck, even Vayne KogMaw can outtrade mages, assassins, and tanks/bruisers/juggernaut/whateverfancywordyouuse.) you're still there peeling for people. Unless you're gold or whatever, a lot of supports are just gonna be potatoes standing behind an adc doing pretty much nothing unless they're playing Blitzcrank or Thresh, but as you go higher up you see them actually picking people out, ccing assassins, etc. I play ADC a pretty good amount, and even then I've only had a handful of supports that actually TRADE with the enemy laners as a ranged support, and try to skirmish/all in as a tanky support.

If you're good at the role you carry if your adc knows how to right click. If they don't, then go support your midlaner when the laning phase ends.

Honestly the supports I hate are not the bad ones but the ones that just cower behind me . Supporting is about control and pressure , you need to stand your ground and demand respect from the enemy laners so your adc can farm. The adc is not the only one that is supposed to trade and bot lane is usually won depending on which support is better at trading Tanking a few hits by walking ahead of the adc is also something only a few supports do , its simple just walk up if you think you will die walk backwards your adc will back you up with sustained damage that the support can't provide if the roles are reversed .

I think support and jungle have the highest carry potential of any role

Problem is support is the least appreciated. my last game the ADC was calling me a trash morgana and told the other team to report me for feeding. [slayer-jinx-unamused] Lets see... Me:0/3/5 ADCLucian:2/11/5 I may have been doing bad for somebody with a root but even then cant say I was feeding and I still had a shield which I used to save people from a jhin ult like 6 times in that game. Kinda a case with Janna. you have a stunning move but its hard to land, but its also useful to save people from chasing opponents. but then you have a big shield that protects from a ton of damage with morgs base being 350,but even then you can get item 3107 and...um..that mastery that also increases shield power by 10%. so that's another like 70 power and the AP scale of morgs shield also give it more power

As a Support main, I love the role itself. I love protecting people and supporting people through.

Currently, my main supports are (non-tank) Janna and Lulu (tanks) Maokai and Leona.

While I am able to play really any role, I much prefer the Support role.
