Why We Need Greater Vision Totem Back

In the 5.22 patch notes, it was said that too much vision created an "arms race". While that can be said about Stealth Wards, it did not apply to the Greater Vision Totem.

Greater Vision Totem (GVT) was a niche pick, just like Mortal Reminder. No one good built GVT just because. If you needed to clear wards, you used Sweeping Lens, which supports had because if Sightstone (And now junglers can have it with Tracker's Knife). If you needed wards, you built Greater Stealth Totem. And if you wanted to ward without getting rekt you built Farsight Orb. The only time you built GVT was against champions you needed it against: Rengar, Talon, Akali, Vayne, Twitch, Evelyn, Teemo, I guess Kha'Zix.

EDIT (I forgot to mention): I do realize that there are still Pink Wards in the shop, and that they're even cheaper now, and that's great. However, if I ever get to late game and I have 4 full items, a recipe item, and 500 gold, that means I have to choose between another recipe item or a Vision Ward. That may seem like a fair choice- a few extra stats or time to react to Rengar eating your f$#@in' face off- but I don't think that's a choice Riot wants us to make. And if by some miracle I have 5 full items and enough money for another full item, I now have to choose between a full build or surviving long enough to use it, and that's not a decision that's healthy for the game at all. I should have to choose between the different utilities offered between trinket types, not inarguably meaningful stats, passives, and actives or a ward. Shootout to season 1-3 supports, they the real MVP.

With the introduction of Mortal Reminder, which specifically targets drain tanks (poor Swain), Riot has shown that they do believe items designed to counter specific champions can be healthy, so the only reason to take GVT out is because pink wards, which you can only place one of, were crowding the map. I don't agree. It's a necessity in a game with stealth champions, and we need it back!

The ward upgrades were removed because literally everyone kept forgeting to buy them. They chose to appeal to the greater audience rather than the more skilled one. Besides, I can have two wards to start with now for free. I'm happy.

It wasn't everyone. It was just the majority of the playerbase that would not upgrade trinkets. Most of the players are low elo, and most of them don't have great game knowledge.

I like having two wards too; I was one of the ones who ALWAYS upgraded trinket before level 11. In fact, these changes are a nerf to the old Greater Stealth Trinket, but it's free and automatic now, so meh. But let me ask you a question: how many yellow wards does it take to spot Evelyn?

I dunno, because if she uses an ability she gets spotted instantly. And pins are 75 G. Not hard to get.

The thing is, Vision wards are the only shop wards AND not avalible any other way. While I like the idea of "these are trinket wards, there are shop wards." I think that the ability to get more pinks is good
