Anyone else tried Devourer Diana?

I can't be the only one who finds Diana's AA animation immensely satisfying to watch (Or am I just really weird?), so obviously when Devourer came out I just had to try it on her. But I gotta say that I feel that Devourer synced pretty well with her. Having your passive proc on every other AA is beautiful, and once 20 mins hits and you've got your Sated Devourer, Nashors Tooth, Lucid boots and NLR you can do some serious and somewhat surprising damage. Obviously I build full AP after my Devourer and Nashors, since building full tank seems stupid and any more AS is just pointless overkill. Some highlights were - when I 1v1'd a Sated Yi who was spamming all of his skills to win with just my shield and AA's. The countless occasions where I've R-W-E'd a carry and destroyed them with AA's. When I build Rylai's and gain the ability to just R straight onto someone and auto them to death while they're slowed. When I'm up against a team that can't CC me hard, so all I have to do is burst their carry and then run around Auoting anyone who's left.

Almost forgot to mention that the ability to shred turrets like they're nothing is pretty neat. That and you get a pretty strong split push (especially if you have blue)

Still gotta test on whether or not you can solo baron, but I would presume so with the right build and at the right time.

Anyone who enjoys playing Diana should give this a try, if only for fun imo. It feels really satisfying.

Generic as fuck. Sometimes you've gotta experiment with things and do shit that nobody else is doing. Tried Runeglaive once and didn't like the feel of it, I prefer this a lot more, especially since it's more fun and different.

i dont get the idea that building more as is supposed to be overkill. have you reached the as cap yet? if not, then its not overkill.

could have stacked a wits end with it.

15% As from runes and a devourer and Nashors will give you like 1.6AS. From there on you're better off building hard AP so that when your passive does proc it hits hard. Also, reaching the cap on Diana is pretty hard since she has pretty low base AS. So really, past that point you'd end up sinking a ton of gold and slot spaces into AS when it just wouldn't pay off that well. Plus, if you build full AP afterwards you can still burst a squishy for like 70% of their health with your combo (Without AAs)

Personally I wouldn't even build nashors. Just start stacking AP after devourer. Maybe lich bane.

Was of the same opinion until I remembered that they buffed Nashors. The passive, extra AS, 80 AP and CDR just felt like too much to pass up. I also built Lucids for 40% CDR. Since you're relying on your base damages quite a bit until you can get some heavy AP stacking, I figured that I might as well go for max CDR so I can cycle through spells more frequently. Plus I feel that your play style shifts a bit. Since AA's become a major source of damage you wanna be able to stay alive and active within melee range for as long as possible so that you can get off the most theoretical damage possible, in which case you're gonna want your shield on a lower CD imo. At least that was my reasoning. But I'm sure that Devourers into Full AP would be superior in some situations.

The problem is its terrible build path. Stinger is such a garbage item it should be removed from the game. Anyone that has to build it gets a huge power stall until mid game.

the way her passive scales devour just give he such a hugh really game and mid game drop compared to runglaive ap diana.

but i guess you could build

item 3020 item 3001 item 3115 item 3116 item 3157 item 3930

I played her item 3726 item 3100item 3115 before devourer got updated. before runeglaive existed. just seems better than runeglaive to me. though i suppose with the new Devourer I might just drop the Nashors Tooth.

It delays her powerspike too hard for my taste. She needs to dominate the midgame, and Devourer takes away from that. I've tried it, but I didn't like it. You don't get AP early which means you are working off of base damages for the most part. It will take 25 minutes before you will get the sated state in an average game and by then, Diana's strongest part of the game is nearing its end.

Runeglaive is just better right now on her. Devourer can work, but it's very risky and not very efficient to her strongest points in the game. If you can get Sated and Nashors AND a Needlessly large rod AND upgraded boots by 20 minutes, you were just fed and your team was snowballing at this point. If you or your team was behind, things would probably go a little differently. Let's not forget that Devourer does not give any mana sustain so you pretty much have to horde all Blue buffs for the game or you will be going OOM or low on health in the jungle as you need your W to clear without taking much damage.

Right now my Diana build will look like this in the jungle: item 3724 item 3157/item 3001 (enemy dependent which to get first/if to get Abyssal; Zhonya's I feel is core) item 3135 and/or item 3089 and one of these offensive options (item 3116 item 3115 item 3285) or defensive option such as (item 3102 item 3143 item 3026). With Devourer, I feel more obligated to get Nashor's and I feel like it delays a lot of AP options. For the core Sated Diana build I think it looks like: item 3931 item 3115 + item 1058 item and then you have a LOT of choices where to go from there and I feel like you have to sacrifice so much anyway you build. Lich/Luden's for more burst, Rylai's for the slows, Deathcap for meaningful AP, Void so you don't get countered with MR, Zhonya's for the extra survivability, or purely defensive options so you can stay alive longer = more damage form your AA's.

Bottom line. It works. 2 AA passive proc is pretty strong along with the Nashors on hit damage, but you will be both squishier than a Runeglaive Diana and will have less burst damage with the real benefit being you have more consistent damage. Runeglaive Diana is a Midgame focused assassin and Sated Diana is a melee DPS carry so it is a different style and if you like it, use it. I just feel like it's not as strong as her Runeglaive build as she falls off in the lategame anyway and going Sated really hurts your build options as you must delay meaningful AP and defensive/semi-defensive items. Good luck out there in future games. Peace.
