Stop complaining about Veigar nerf

LOL Spammer··6 votes·1,121 views

Veigars nerf is already locked in, complaining about it will do nothing. Once the changes are implemented, if veigar is terrible then they may buff him just stop raging about his nerfs when you don't even know if he is bad yet.

So you agree then, this was a Veiagr nerf.

Then let me ask you something,

Why would you nerf a champion after they just got there core item removed?

Betty le Boop3 votes

Let me ask you something, do you know how to spell? Also it's stated that way because everyone who 'mains' him is calling it a nerf. His q and his w are getting buffed. Stop complaining. All you see is one thing that makes it 'nerfed' and now everyone else is complaining they want more. You people are selfish.... beyond compare. These people work day and night, holidays, ect.. to make you all happy... and all you do is B*%&^ over and bellyache, when they do something you don't like. Face it.. Rito = Parents, You = One of the Adopted Kids. They listen when they want to. They try to make you feel loved... But inside you always feel like they can do more, for you. You always feel like you don't belong, because they should treat you better... when they have been nothing but good to you... They took away your cake to give you icecream... and you're mad. Stop it.

Really? Why must you lash out? I haven't said anything to offend any body and you assume I have lashed out at Riot for this.

These are nerfs.

What damage was increased? Was the delay on W changed? Simply having mana cost and cdr reduced does not mean its a buff. In fact his Q got a increase of cdr. The only numbers that were changed were his ult, in which they got reduced. That my friend is a nerf, no way around it.

This is something we don't want, we are allowed an opinion on this because we know Veigar better than most people. These are the boards, were we voice our opinions and expect Riot to hear us on them. True some people do say harsh things to Riot with out reasoning. But that doesn't mean we are all like that. I was hoping for a argument, clearly I came to the wrong place.

Betty le Boop2 votes

Why argue? All I did was state, that Riot has to do so much for every champion, and they have to hear people complain about how every champion is broken or op or useless because of nerfs and buffs. The only thing I've seen that ruins it for me in game, is that a lot of veigars are building item 3070 instead of going for dmg or cdr. What is the point of having such a late game item as a burst mage? Also, unlike most burst mages, he has a stun. I understand that you are upset... but this specific forum was stating, "It's happening, stop complaining... When/If they see it's bad, they will change it. The person who made this thread is tired of hearing complaining, from people who don't care to appreciate what they have. When was the last time, you thanked Rito? I don't see really any forums, just saying thank you for all your hard work. Everyone that begs for attention, is to complain.

LANWhale2 votes

When was the last time, you thanked Rito?

First off, i'm always thank full for the fact Rito has made this game, secondly, the fact this game is for free is another.

As well, feedback will always be labeled as complaining. Only in the rare case do we see people actually have a nice attitude towards a change. I know Veigar changes are locked in, i know it doesn't matter if I tell them not to go threw with it, but that's not what i'm asking. What I am asking for is for feedback, a response, from Rito.

What interactive post have we gotten over the Veigar change? None. Not a single Rioter decided to responded to some of the more polite threads asking for a Rioter to come and to discuss the changes in greater depth. But instead what did we get?

Silence.

And when a Rioter did make a comment on this, they practically said, "Alright so here it is, were not changing it, deal with it." We have gone threw enough of Rito's silence and alot of us are peeved about this.

Look, the Veigar changes are happening whether we like it or not. We get that, whats done is done, but we have to deal with it not Riot.

The Veigar changes for 5.4 are locked. Directionally we believe a delay on Veigar's E is essential to making Veigar healthy (so that we can be happy if he's strong and popular, rather than definitely having to nerf him if that happens). If that delay does prove to be too long we'll reduce it, given it's much harder to shut Veigar's laning down given the extra range and shorter CD on his Q however that delay's our best estimate on appropriate for the upcoming patch. -Meddler

Thanks for getting the exact quote, many thanks.

Veigar never needed DFG to instantly blow up any AP carry. The DFG made it possible for Veigar to instantly blow up ANY champion using point and click abilities that require 0 skill to use. His stun being instantaneous made it so there was zero counter play to him clicking R on you and dying. They added a skill cap to him which is fine by me

LANWhale1 votes

So if hes fine would you play him?

Would you get irritated if your stun is just walked out of?

DFG, an item that didn't make much sense either when I picked him up."Why buy something that is suppose to burst some one on some one who can already burst?", this was the exact same thing I thought to my self when I did start playing Veigar. Over item I just picked it up just because every body else was doing it, not really asking why.

But then it hit me, DFG made Veigar's role effective.

If DFG was around would we see this amount of negative feedback? No, the stun was strong on Veigar, now its a joke, but was just something adding to his already necessary 100-0 kit.

I'm sure you have heard, or seen, what happens if a Veigar can't 100-0 some body or he misses the stun. DFG was core for in case you missed your stun you had DFG to fall back on.

The biggest problem with the change I have is the reasoning for doing it. Not the counter play aspect but for what they intended to happen. What they want is for Veigar to** miss **the stun, odd I know but allow me, and to keep the enemy trap in the middle and toy with them.

Is this a great concept? Ya I would get behind that. Does it work for Veigar? i already stated what happens when Veigar doesn't do his job or stun them, so there's that answer. The only way this change in his kit is to actually change Veigar's entire kit.

Full scale, change everything, update. Look how upset they are to see these changes, imagine if Riot decide to go threw with a brand new kit on Veigar. The boards will explode, whether good or bad depends on Riot.

If he's fine I still would not play him. I didn't play him before these changes. I didn't play him before the removal of DFG. I have always hated the concept of his point and click 100-0 from afar kit with almost no counterplay. I have however played against many. The problem with him is that if you lane against him and beat him in lane, you are actually making him stronger as well because his ult scales with you own AP

There is nothing more frustrating than knowing that the better you do, the stronger Veigar actually becomes against you. If you stomp him in lane you are also adding damage to his arsenal. When late game hits your only choice is to stay out of the fight until hes dealt with because of his instantaneous stun and his point-and-click 0 skill ultimate will deal at least 80% of your HP. When you're playing AP carries like Diana, Akali, Katarina, Nidalee, Swain, Kassadin, Gragas, Rumble, Kennen, Vlad, etc that revolve around being in the middle of a fight, Veigar's point and click 100-0 ult just simply isn't fair. Its toxic to the game.

So I welcome these changes. At least you have a fraction of a second to react before you get 100-0 with a point and click ult.

LANWhale1 votes

At least you have a fraction of a second to react before you get 100-0 with a point and click ult.

If this was true, people would not be complaining.

No you have more than a fraction of a second, you have a whole year to walk out of that.(exaggeration of course)

On their own these changes would of been fine, sure there would of been backlash but not as much as their is now. The reason why there is so much backlash is the fact he just got a pretty much core item removed. I understand that you may have not built DFG, and that's fine like I said before it doesn't make sense to stack that much burst, but the truth of the matter is you are not every Veigar player.

They went off the statistic on how many Veigars built DFG, since the majority did build it it was there fore core on him. As for the mid lane match up you should know Veigar is the anti-mage mage. That's his idea, such as when Kass had his silence, the idea is he has a rough start and as such should get bullied out of lane. Then he takes his revenge on those who laughed at him. That's why alot of people love him, he knows your just stalling the inevitable, that he will have his revenge maybe not now but soon.

Counterplay seems to be tossed around, alot some people know what it means and some don't. You do though, that much seems clear to me. The only problem is, Veigar isn't the only one to have such a lack of counterlpay.

There is only one other champion that has a AoE instant stun, Annie.

Yet she has yet to receive a kit change, why is this? Well allow me to compare.

Annie has stun that can be up alot more than Veigar's. Annie can burst you down at level six, Veigar can only burst down mages and maybe supports. Annie can chose to have a point and click stun, AoE stun, or an AoE instant stun that summons a giant bear.

Comparatively there's a vast difference and if you say counter play is the issue with Veigar, were is the counter play to Annie? Now don't say know here range, that's not counterplay that's just walking around. Nor is flashing her stun Tibbers counterplay, that's just flashing. So what is here counter play? And why hasn't she got a kit change? Simple.

LCS.

She is solely played in LCS for the stun Tibbers, even the casters know this, and as such they refuse to change her kit. Why? Because if they did she would not see LCS play. I usually don't like using LCS like this, but in this case that is the only reason why Annie has yet to get changed.

Why wait for something that will obviously be bad instead of fixing the problem now. That is counter productive.

Trídent1 votes

exactly, especially since so many people are against the "buffs" in the PBE.

IcyPepper1 votes

Well I apologize for the thousands of people who play Veigar, are impacted by the changes, and have an opinion about it.

I mean, Riot does listen to us to a degree. Speaking up has the chance to change something, silence never gets it done.

Sukishoo1 votes

Yeah, they've already locked in the patch... it's coming next week. So if anything needs changes that will happen in the weeks after.

otakoteep1 votes

if anything i want riot to do one thing to veigar.

give his ap gained from his q a tooltip like thresh and nasus makes it easier to tell the good ones from the bad one and the GETTHEFUCKAWAYFROMTHATWALKINGDEATHBOMB

Veigar hehe hehe~

Spicy Rice1 votes

Ive tried it out on the pbe and it feels like a direct nerf instead of buff

LOL Spammer1 votes

Well that is because it was meant to be a nerf, not a buff.

LOL Spammer1 votes

Yes I said it was a nerf, because it is a nerf no shit. But do you really think complaining will do anything? The nerfs haven't even been implemented into the game yet and people are raging like hell
