What qualities should a healthy assassin have?
Obviously you should be able to kill them, catch them and not instantly lose because they got like 2 kills but what else?

They should be too weak to kill an adc 1v1 and too immobile to outrun a Darius, while also being squishier than Sona. Then they will obviously be healthy and balanced.
Counterplay
Mobility (or at least a gap closer) but still gankable (unlike
), so with decent range and decent cooldown.
Good item scaling.
Engage
Burst
No sustained damage
Have to compromise to a target
And counterplay.
I remember there was another thread asking the same questions.

A healthy assassin -has to acquire damage items to remain relevant and continue assassinating -has to outplay or out think you to get a kill on even terms -has the tools to outplay you and the damage to kill you -has opportunities for its target to fight back that are effective -has difficulty recovering from failed assassinations -has little effect on a fight if abilities are used improperly
High risk, high reward, skill based.
I'll add one more: damage should be mostly single-target.
is a very good one.
Id say they should be able to get past a teams defense IF played right to kill a squishy before dying. NOT being able to go tank, getting through an enemy teams frontline, 1v 5 and behind or even in terms of gold, then killing all 3 squishies while being cc'd constantly. Then the next fight get a 1v5 penta because the previous 3 kills snowballed them so hardcore. I'm not saying every assassin is like this but a few are
Zed.
His kit is what Riot deems as the perfect example of a healthy assassin kit. And it is. His kit has mobility, a way to get in and get out, and extreme single target damage.
What can break him here and there is items. As a champion, his kit is amazing and balanced, but when you buff/nerf/add items, they can add too much value to his kit. A lot of people will downvote this, and maybe I am wrong, but I don't jump on the Zed hate bandwagon, just like I don't hate on Ekko, Lee Sin, and Thresh. His kit is full of fluidity, mobility, and high single target damage. It also has plenty of counterplay to counter everything he does. Powerful single target damage? Zhonyas/QSS/exhaust. Mobility/escape? Telegraphed via where his shadows are, can aim for the shadows. Energy costs? Each individual spell doesn't do anything spectacular. E low damage, W is a long CD gap closer, Q damage gets chunked if it hits any other target first.
On the topic of his ult, can do massive damage, but also has higher counterplay than other assassins. Talon jumps on your carry and you stun him mid ult? Stun ends, he continues the assault. Stun Akali jumping on your ADC? She'll jump jump on again. Stun Fizz during his ult? Ult's going off anyways, doing full damage. Stun LeBlanc during her "ult", doesn't change anything as it's already hit you.
Stun Zed during the ult? The damage you take is sharply reduced.
Basically, an assassin needs extremely high burst damage and be squishy with mobility. A glass cannon, if you will. It's why tank akali and tank fizz piss people off because they retain assassin qualities but with safety of tanks and it's very effective. But, riot is working on this issue.

yeah i dont get the thresh hate wagon. Hes really not that bad
Nope, he's just got a lot of things he does, but not as well as others who specialize in it.
i would like to see assassins become execute clean up style champs not champs that just run around and 100 to 0 people kinda like i think fizz was supposed to be

that doesn't sound too bad
This guy ->
They shouldn't be able to escape unless they get a kill. (Not every ability get's to reset, just their primary mobility/engagement spell, Like Zed's Shadows or Kha's leap, NOT Katarina)
Optional 6. Stealth 7. CD resets 8. Silence
