Ekko IS Balanced

I believe Ekko is balanced, to which I wonder if anyone here agrees with me. Sure we probably will see AP ratio nerfs in the near future, but it'd be a shame if they were anywhere near halved because face it, Ekko needs it. I've played about 11 games with him since release in 3 different roles (Jungle, Mid, and Support). What I've discerned is that basically he's the champion that'll counter all those assassins we've been getting one-shotted by for years i.e. Fizz, Zed, Akali, Leblanc, Rengar, Katarina, Diana, and all those fed ADC's we can't shut down.

Many of the weaknesses I've had to adjust to were:

  1. He's extremely squishy without his shield
  2. As soon as he's CC'd he basically can't do anything thus forcing you to not all in people recklessly
  3. He cannot 1v1 tanks or those heavy with MR/HP
  4. Zhonyas and Guardian Angel are effective counterplay items.

Most champions will be overpowered when they come out because their potential is a complete mystery. I've seen many people believe that he has an overloaded and BS kit, but quite frankly, I can't see how he'd be any good without most of the abilities in his kit.

you lost me at he cant 1v1 tanks. He has % hp dmg, a shield, a heal all combined with a metric fuckton of damage

His hp% damage is an execute, and is nothing like Vayne's. The tank needs to specifically be under 30% health for it to work. If they have over 3k health and 100 MR, any kind of CC at all, Ekko will die. He does have a heal, but the tank will still have three times the HP Ekko has. Ekko's shield is only effective if he stands in it, and it only lasts for a certain amount of time. It is not instant, and lets say Ekko gets pushed out of it, then there's no shield. Also his core passive (not W) has a 3 second cooldown, ideally Ekko is supposed to assassinate people within one rotation and with one passive proc.

You know who else has a metric ton of damage and three times the mobility? Leblanc.

Funny, your perfect Ekko KDA records does not support your thesis.

My games are not perfect. The first game I played was a custom to get a feel for his kit. Then I played 2 games in teambuilder against pre-30 and Bronze players and used that to see how much I could 1v5 their team. By the time I got to normals, it was much harder to outsmart people at first, I died before I even got any kills. The only reason why I have okay Ekko games is because I got gud with him, not because he's unbalanced.

Only thing I think needs toned down is the shield. Early game not an issue, but late game its pretty beefy

I agree with the person who says he has too much power in his shield. Just laned against one for the first time and damn, I had no idea how huge that thing got. Literally a rotation of spell's worth. Thematically how does it even fit in with his lore?

Dude, put down the crack pipe. You have obviously killed way too many brain cells.

No, he's really not. For one thing, the damage on his ultimately is completely ridiculous. If you've been fighting in the same place for a while, it's basically a 130% AP nuke. Late game, it's going to hit for 1500-1600. That's ridiculous, especially when you consider that it heals you too.

His basic abilities are fine. W has a massive delay on it, E has very poor scaling, and Q has 3/4 of the scaling on the return damage. I think his base health needs a bit of a nerf, though.

Are people really complaining about the shield? It takes THREE seconds for it to hit the ground, and it only lasts for two seconds after that. You have to be in the AoE for it to work. Those are very major drawbacks. You could, you know, just walk away from the area, then wait for it to wear off. Either he sits there, and he can't reach you in the two seconds afterwards, or he chases you and doesn't get the shield because he's not in the zone.

The highest amount of AP I got with Ekko having boots is 836. His ult only did around 1000 damage. There are many other champions that have ults that can do the same amount of damage...and it only does damage if it hits, watch out for his time-shadow and you won't get hit.

You say he's not but you only complained about his ultimate, and late game you'll probably have 2 or 3 tanks with 4k health thanks to cinderhulk. It's not like his ult is a targetable brain-dead ability, you need to watch where you were 4 seconds ago and make sure you're alive to get back (if you get cc'd or silenced, you won't be able to ult, i'm quite sure Malzahar is good for this.)
