So who counters Aurelion Sol in the jungle?

Let's see... AoE damage passive... stun on Q... crazy mobility and gank a minute with E... Aussie's going to be a jungler on release. And an AP jungler at that, we don't have many of those.

So which champs will be best ones to counter him?

His first clear is really bad. So, anyone with a good invade.

Pretty much this!

There are other champs with slow first clears though. I think if you master your Q and the orbs, you can clear a lot without taking too much damage.

I doubt it. Most AP champs that are meant for lanes just don't have the stats for jungle.

Ahri Katarina Kassadin would all be fantastic in the jungle, but they can't even survive the first few clears even with the heaviest of leashes.

But stonewall and pants were able to play him in the jungle. Stonewall is calling him a jungler and he's a few elos above me.

They can all work, you just can't build them like their lane counterparts. You need at least a little attack speed investment in runes and masteries for early clears, and with ranged APs you need to know how to kite camps to reduce damage.

LeeSin MasterYi Pantheon Poppy RekSai Rengar Sejuani Udyr Pretty much anyone who's getting into his face and staying there.

Early game junglers. Lee Sin, Shaco, Elise, just invade him once and shit on him while he's behind.

Linna Excel1 votes

That would make sense, but with his Q, his E, and the slow on his R, he seems to have a kit that would make him relevant even when behind. If he's getting invaded a lot, he seems to be able to make up for it with gank potential.

Idk I feel like he won't be a good Jungler like if you've played him it takes so long to take big buffs and even small camps. Probably just more beneficial to play him mid and get an actual good jungler

which champion doesnt counter him in general? low mobility fighters, thats it.

hes pretty squishy and reliant on getting into gapcloser range of his opponent to work. melee assassins and bruisers can fight him inside the circle and trash him, ranged champions can kill him from outside.

hes a really weird champion tbh. imo his kit with the focus on his stars circling him is bad.

they should have given him an ability to increase the speed of his comets/stars along with the size increase

that would make it much better, but then again, he is probably going to be built tanky and can just E invade someone behind their tower for a free kill

It's not can he Jungle, its is Jungle his best position?

Linna Excel1 votes

I don't know. His mobility is weird as his E is weird. So he's either a really mobile mid or an immobile mid. Then there's juggling that passive and how well other champs can deal with that.

I think however you play him, you really need to gank a lot with him as it seems when played right, his ganks can be pretty good.

I doubt his jungle will be too good. Pick an invade jungler like Rengar, Shaco, Lee Sin, or even Shyvana. Gank early and you will make him useless.

Linna Excel1 votes

Rengar is hard to play well. Shaco is either broken OP or broken UP depending on who's playing him. Lee is hard to play well. Shyvana is in the process of getting knee-capped.

I'm not saying any of those are wrong answers, there's just not a lot of people who I'd trust to play 3 of them well. I can only play Shyvana on that list.

Lee, Elise, Xin, Shaco, Udyr, Shyvana. Just live in his jungle, his clears are so slow and unsafe early on that you can take an advantage and just never give it up.

In mid-lane, take Kassadin. He can gank as much as he wants with a massive star and you just blink away. Then, if you ever meet him alone, ult past his q and into him (literally, you are ghosted and can stand inside him.) Then all he has left is his ult, but if you q him in time most of the damage will be negated by the shield. Also, If he has at least one stack on e before sol comes in, he can also quickly cast his e. Same if sol is in lane -- they say akali is the best counter for sol, but a good sol will still stun her, while kass can just ult past.
