I don't know man, I think you guys might be bonkers.
Do you play on-hit champions?
Let me tell you what this means for me as a Yi main. It means that now I can stack bloodrazor, blade of the ruined king, and guinsoo's rageblade without necessarily overcapping on attack speed when I ult late game. I might need to change my runes to have less attack speed.
The extra 5% lifesteal is AMAZING by the way, since most on-hit damage is physical damage, and on-hits do in fact benefit from lifesteal. This makes drain-tanking much better for on-hit champions.
And what on-hit/botrk champions do you guys play that don't benefit from AD? Yi loves AD, it makes his Q burst harder, it benefits from his 10% AD steroid, it increases the amount of true damage he deals, it obviously increases the damage of his autos, and it benefits from the lifesteal of the item. Warwick prefers the AD as well, since his Q and ult scale all right with it, and he frankly does not need much attack speed at all since that dude easily hits the cap without a single bought attack speed item when he gets a target low. Tryndamere of course likes AD because he's a crit monster, though I'll admit his lack of an AS steroid does make its benefits over AS a bit more iffy. Jax doesn't tend to build it these days, but the AD scales with several of his spells, including his ult, making him tankier. Yasuo (for those who sometimes build the top lane duelist build with botrk like me) loves the AD for his crits, and doesn't need any more attack speed than his PD. Xin Zhao likes the AD due to his low cooldown Q and his W scaling with it, and he gets a big attack speed steroid from his W already. The only champions who might prefer AS IMO are Vayne, Kog'maw, and perhaps Ezreal.
The only change I'm iffy on is the removal of the burst drain of the active.
