Mordekaiser, The Iron Rework (Just some fun brainstorming^^)
We all know Mordekaiser could use a more extensive rework truly befitting the Iron Revenant. His old kit, and his newer one to a lesser extent, suffer from having rather unhealthy mechanics mostly allocated in his iconic ultimate. He's similar to Kassadin in this regard that his core identity's also the reason for him not being allowed to be good. Yet completely removing these parts of their kit would make them lose their identity. With that in mind I tried to rework Mordekaiser to fit his "Undying Emperor bent on eternal Conquest" vibe without outright removing what makes Morde who he is.
This is MY PERSONAL opinion, everyone's bound to have their own view on what should stay and what should be thrown out but for this iteration of his kit. I tried to preserve as much of his old self as well as making his skills somewhat more interesting and giving them more counterplay. So, without further ado, let's jump right to the fun part:
http://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/leagueoflegends/images/6/67/Iron_Man.png/revision/latest?cb=20150812202309 Passive; Iron Man -Mordekaiser converts 20% of the magic damage he deals into a temporary shield with only half the effectiveness against minions -Shield decays at 3% of his base health when out of combat -Shield strength's based on 25% of Morde's maximum health -Shield strength may never decay below 20%
I lowered the % while also increasing the decay rate when out of combat. This should encourage Mordekaiser to actually brawl rather than simply poke his opponent from range. He should be trying to pick favorable trades and skirmish for lane dominance rather than trying to whittle down his opponent from range.
http://vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/leagueoflegends/images/1/18/Mace_of_Spades.png/revision/latest?cb=20150812202549 Q: Mace of Spades -Morde's next three attacks deal bonus magic damage with the third being twice as strong as the first two ones. -50% of the bonus magic damage is applied in a small AoE around the primary target -Bonus magic damage 20-50 + 50-90% total ad +0.6AP -Cooldown; 12-4 seconds -CD starts at the BEGINNING of the first hit, similar to Riven's Q (If a minion dies to Mace of spades its corpse is sent flying)
Mordekaiser is a Juggernaut and thus relies on obscene Melee damage, which his current Q empathizes very well. The added AoE damage should help Mordekaiser's shield gain as well as making fighting in the enemy team's frontline so much stronger. He should be wading through the enemy team and laying down the damage similar to Sauron in the LoTR series
http://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/leagueoflegends/images/7/72/Harvester_of_Sorrow.png/revision/latest?cb=20150812202056 W: Harvester of Sorrow -Mordekaiser surrounds himself with metal shrapnel for up to 10 seconds -Deals AoE magic damage
- DOUBLES Morde's shield gain for the duration -20-13 second cool down -25-65 + 0.2 AP + 0.2 Total AD damage per second.
Reactivation; Ride the lightning! -Mordekaiser shatters his protective shell, impaling surrounding enemies on metal spikes, draining a % of their maximum health but ending the effect prematurely. -Only available in the first 6 seconds of HoS -4-10% max hp drain (damage +heal)
This is Mordekaiser's shield generator. It allows him to go balls to the walls when charging in to fight. His increased shield gain will allow him to thrive fighting through the enemy front lines while simultaneously building up a defensive shield in his conquest.
The reactivation makes for great strategic thinking. You have to choose between a quick burst and heal OR upholding your shield gain and AoE damage.
http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/leagueoflegends/images/4/41/Siphon_of_Destruction.png/revision/latest?cb=20150812202525 E: Siphon of Destruction -Mordekaiser blasts a target cone-shaped area, dealing AoE damage. -The damage falls off the farther it extends from Mordekaiser to only deal 75% of the damage. -Provides 10-20% of Morde's maximum shield per champion hit, 5-10% for every large monster hit -Deals 35-155 +0.9 total AD +0.7 Ap damage -CD 8-5 seconds
http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/leagueoflegends/images/6/6c/Children_of_the_Grave.png/revision/latest?cb=20150812201747 R: Children of the Grave -Mordekaiser steals 15-25%+ 4% per 100 Ap +2% per total AD of a target enemy champion's health -Summons 2-4 WRAITHS around the enemy champion that attack whoever Morde's attacking to whatever they're ordered to. -Wraiths expire after 50-75 seconds -170-90 second cool down
Wraiths stats are based on the following; -25% of both Morde's and the target enemy's total health and resistances -25% of their offensive stats
Every of Mordekaiser's basic abilities interact differently with the wraiths summoned by Children of the grave: -Q; His wraiths gain increased Attack speed for their next three attacks -W: The Shrapnel cloud is emitted by both Mordekaiser and all his wraiths -E; Siphon of Destruction heals Morde's wraiths for 10% of the damage dealt by the siphon
Morde is a commander, a tyrant, a conqueror. He bound his strongest servants to his will, enslaving hem for all eternity to do his bidding and aid him in his quest for eternal conquest. He is League's version of Sauron, his lore even makes the Liches out to be his equivalent of the Nazgûl. I thought it would be interesting for his ultimate to draw upon that very part of his lore. His current ultimate isn't really healthy, seeing that Mordekaiser's success depends on him actually KILLING the target affected by his ultimate as well as actually BUFFING the ghost, which when fed, can tear entire teams apart. It's an ability that scales on how hard you're losing.
___________________________ I hope you've noticed a pattern here, I tried to make Mordekaiser scale extremely hard with levels, truly becoming a late game terror by commanding the undead and refusing to die with his shield thriving in the midst of battle. He should be this force on the battlefield you better avoid.
Anyways, this is just me rambling about something that will never happen but it's fun regardless. I'd like to know what you think about this particular idea and would love to know your very own opinions on how to make Mordekaiser live up to the mantle of the Iron Revenant.

's W with how it shatters armor into the enemy. I feel like that concept of armor shards damaging an enemy fits morde better anyway.
can shatter metal but
