Why is Kog'Maw Jungle, a traditionally niche pick, have a massive playrate and 52% Winrate?
Kog'Maw
Jungle is currently a BIG thing, thanks to
. He has risen the ranks of the Jungle, and has climbed to a 52.6% Winrate.
Now, you maybe thinking, Mordekaiser
had the exact same Winrate in the Jungle, and he wasn't broken.
The difference there lies in the amount of dedication players have put into the champion. Mordekaiser
Jungle had a 52% Winrate because only dedicated mains with plenty of experience were playing him there. This is was made prevelant the next patch, where Phoenix 1 Jungler Inori played Mordekaiser
Jungle and won. #039;s Winrate dropped by 4% as his playrate spiked.
Kog'Maw
Jungle actually has the second LOWEST Average Games played by his Player-base(second only to
, you know, the NEWEST champion)This means you do not have to dedicate that much time to becoming good enough to get the 52% winrate.
Kog'Maw Jungle is something so outlandish that only a few people who main him should be good on it, but if this thing is being played so much as to be part a massive part of the Playerbase, it should be stopped.
I'm not saying I'm against off-meta builds, but currently Kog'Maw jungle is the WAY to play Kog right now.
Edit: This probably happened because it's harder to abuse a hyper-carry Jungler than a hypercarry laner. You can zone Laners from farm but you need to invade to steal Jungle Camps.
