What Riot considered the nerf to AP Kog'maw

"A few light touches should get both flavors of the void puppy to a stable spot." "for mage Kog, that’s pulling some excess waveclear out of his lane phase to keep him on his toes."

"E - Void Ooze DAMAGE 60/110/160/210/260 ⇒ 60/105/150/195/240 RATIO 0.7 ability power ⇒ 0.5 ability power"

So apparently reducing the AP ratio by .2 would be one of those "light touches" intended to reduce his waveclear during the laning phase. I can completely understand reducing the base because that directly hits the early game hardest, and keeps the late game fairly similar, but reducing the AP ratio by .2 is a massive hit to his mid and late game burst and waveclear.

Why can't they just take small steps when balancing other champions than just their favorites?

What I find even funnier is you expected Riot's balance team to actually do something right.

They're quite gentle with the nerfs to the champions they like. It's just with the champions that they don't care too much about where they start going "Hmm they're a tad strong. Let's nerf them... there... and there... and there and there."

They actually have been a lot more gradual with balance changes in the last couple months (not all the time, but mostly), but it looks like that's fading again.

Yeah, the ones that the pros play in the LCS, but even then its only ever the same champions over and over. heaven forbid someone new (Like Poppy) ever see some LCS play lest they get nerfed for it (Which she did/is going to be)

The fact as a company Riot SHOULDN'T be playing favorites at all but sadly they do and that's why we have such a one sided meta to begin with.
