Pre-rework Morde was a literal joke* and we cannot revert him to that state

Right now, Morde has high damage, good defense (based on your build), and no mobility.

As opposed to mediocre damage, mediocre defense, and no mobility before the rework. Ergo, the rework improved Mordekaiser as a champion, but made him completely overbearing as opposed to completely underwhelming. Now that he can actually be a threat at all to the enemy team, the problems he would have had pre-rework (Q is the only significantly different spell, everything else just getting buffs of some sort) if he wasn't a chump are starting to show.

1: If you can't shove a lane faster than he can his laning phase is basically free (unless your jungler ganks enough) 2: Most/all of his counterplay in a teamfight is "Damage Morde before he walks into the teamfight."

The new problem with trying to fight Morde is thanks to his Q. "You can't really prevent him from getting that 1000+ damage basic attack ready, so he has a nuke on his right click pretty much whenever." Overall, these create one large problem. Mordekaiser is bound to win under certain conditions, and it's incredibly easy for him to force these conditions on the enemy team. Balancing Morde should focus on enough strategy into his kit so that he can keep the raid boss feel without a coordinated party of 3-5 being the basic requirements needed to defeat him.

With this in mind, the following are a few ideas for nerfing Morde without changing him. 1: Mace of Spades' damage will only get the damage multipliers if Morde is attacking an enemy champion or epic monster. Otherwise, the second and third attack will do the same damage as the first. 2: Siphon of Destruction no longer provides extra Iron Man shield when hitting enemy champions (the increased shield for dealing damage to enemy champions remains). 3: Spells cost increases by 50% if Mordekaiser does not deal damage with that spell (health taken after the duration of the spell ends).

*I mean it. If you weren't around or forgot or something, people were mocked and shunned for playing Mordekaiser. The "BR Morde huehuehue" meme is based on the idea that people from Brazil are bad at video games, so naturally they would play the worst champion.

New Mordekaiser literally has less shield and inferior base stats than old. How the fuck is he tankier lmao

Old also does more damage under optimal situations, with actual burst and AoE. Have you ever seen the damage his isolated Q could do?

The ''BR Mord huehue'' had nothing to do with him being bad.

Shield builds faster since he does more damage, W has a pretty good heal (Not exactly Darius' heal but it helps). And like every juggernaught, the new defensive items (and buffs to old defensive items) fit him like a glove.

His shield's regen is smaller than ever and he has no AoE to help build it up. It also decays faster.

If we are counting items, Old Mord would be tankier anyway. Cant forget the fact W used to give him extra resistances too.

and he has no AoE to help build it up.

What? The only thing that lost AoE is Q. And the damage it would have done to nearby enemies (and more) is still there, but single-target

And Kassadin was physically capable of losing games before they removed his silence. Should I post a video where that happens and ask for Riot to undo that nerf? Hell no.

You mean you were a joke at playing pre-rework Mordekaiser. My favorite thing was watching a fed pre-rework Mordekaiser walk into the enemy team and just start wrecking face.

TF? You mean Riven, Jayce, or Renekton. Freight Truck Mordekaiser is played top, not mid. No wonder you did so bad.

I didn't play him at all because I wanted to help my team win games

You sound like that Tristana when I was playing Pantheon bot before his buffs, it was a good stomp.

Liking and enjoying a champion or character, even if they are underpowered, often causes you to play to a higher degree compared to playing some flavor of the month you hate or are indifferent about. Just look to Smash Bros. In a major Melee tournament a guy brought Bowser, an F tier character, and crushed his way to the final bracket through S tiers like Fox, Falco, and Marth. In Brawl the same thing happened when someone brought Yoshi, a D tier character and crushed his way through the tournament as well, being able to beat SS tier (yes he is that broken) Meta Knights.

I mained Morde since I started playing this game back in Quinn's release in S3. I climbed to Platinum using just Mordekaiser, currently hold a 59.4 win ratio with him out of 170 ranked games, Stopped playing this game after rework.

Don't lecture me on how bad was Pre-work Morde compared to the new one because to get to that extend shows your lack of knowledge about the champion and thus makes me ignore the rest you have to say on the subject.

Old Morde had consistent high damage distributed in all his kit not just one situational nuke, was a lot tankier, had better mobility, and better overall base stats. Just don't, you obviously don't know what you are talking about. I'm sorry to be harsh here. This version took the champion and crushed it into a tin can in order to meet botlane standards. Hence, alienating the old playerbase from the champion they all learned to love and main.

Lastly, 1 downvote for the misinformation thread.
