Attack Speed + Crit + Sheen

item 3057 +item 2015 +item 1018 + 450g = 2900g completed item

30% attack speed 25% critical strike chance 300 mana 10% CDR

Spellblade: After using an ability, the next basic attack deals 75% Base Attack Damage as bonus physical damage, and grants an additional 100% attack speed until the following basic attack.

This would basically be a spellblade auto attack reset, and I think it should actually work for ranged attackers.

This item is only like 80% gold efficient, that is worse than Lichbane with none of the scaling. Not to mention most champions that would use this can animation cancel for a similar effect (minus the extra damage) if the player is skilled. This item really has no place in the game.

I would expect this to be more commonly built on ranged champions. I see no reason to say the item has no place in the game. It would be a great for a crit caster marksman. There are no items that function as an attack reset that are not melee only. That was one of the main intentions of this item.

You're right, the gold efficiency is a little low. So the stats / effects get buffed or the final combined price comes down. I'd prefer to start an item under-powered than overpowered.

Most of the champions that would use it already have the ability to animation cancel most of their aa animation, meaning it will never be bought (because redundancy) unless overpowered stat-wise. Somebody who wants a powerful sheen proc will go trinity, somebody who wants crit will go a zeal item. This item has no purpose in the game.

Most of the melee champions that even buy item 3077 items do it for stats, wave clear, and the animation cancels (that have been mostly removed I believe), not for the aa reset.

I don't agree with you. This item fits in with crit casters better than Trinity Force. This does more to improve the flow of damage output and it is a more reasonable build path.

You're acting like champions that have animation canceling effects wouldn't happily take another. Lots of melee champions that build Tiamat have animation canceling effects as well, .. that doesn't stop them from building it.

This has power because it works in tandem with champions who work in a hit count system. Using a basic attack, then an ability to cancel part of their attack animation, then a damage-empowered basic attack, followed by what amounts to an attack reset.

I don't think you understand the difference between an auto attack reset and an animation cancel. The former is an attack timer reset, allowing a manual auto based ability to 'reset' your auto animation, IE Nasus q. An animation cancel is cutting off an animation, whether that is an auto or ability animation, by using specific command input to speed up the execution of said animation. Lucian for example can cancel both his auto and ability animations by chaining them together carefully. That is why he can get away with much less attack speed than other adcs, albeit at the price of some scaling power.

Lots of melee champions that build Tiamat have animation canceling effects as well

I will correct your use of "animation cancelling" with "auto reset" to compare it to your item suggestion. Most build it for the other benefits I listed, which was exactly my point. People don't just get items for an auto reset.

Most of the melee champions that even buy item 3077 items do it for stats, wave clear, and the animation cancels (that have been mostly removed I believe), not for the aa reset

The only champions that I recall that have animation cancels within their kits and build tiamat are Renekton which is tied to his ult and Riven who uses it for her ult, because her other cancels don't work on ult animation I believe (I am much less experienced with Riven than Renekton admittedly).

This has power because it works in tandem with champions who work in a hit count system. Using a basic attack, then an ability to cancel part of their attack animation, then a damage-empowered basic attack, followed by what amounts to an attack reset.

When exactly do you think this would fit into builds and on what champions? It sounds like a trading item, but no adc would survive laning building this. Building it second would inhibit a powerspike adc incredibly hard and hurt scaling, making it a "always sub optimal" choice. Maybe Jhin can abuse it, but the keyword is abuse and even then I think he has better items. Ezreal doesn't want a worse triforce, Corki would delay his scaling and powerspike, Kog'Maw can't use it, Vayne can use it at the price of an even worse laning phase and delayed scaling. Kai'sa can't get q evolve with it to be able to wave clear, Varus eats the trade offs like Vayne, Ashe has a reset built in, MF can't get it in laning phase and has low base ad anyway. Am I missing anyone?

No. This will only being bank tank yasuo. He’s the reason crit was removed from triforce to begin with.

Elite4Runner1 votes

Really? This would be the item that would bring back Tank Yasuo? It doesn't even have any tank stats at all. I can see how the crit and base attack speed would be good, but no better than any other zeal item. I admit that the attack speed part of Spellblade would be pretty insane on him. It would basically give him the lowest cooldown on his Q after using any ability and landing a basic attack, HOWEVER, Hail of Blades does this at level 1 on a 4 second (out of combat) cooldown.

So .. where is Tank Yasuo now?

Not even close. This build was getting toplane off tank yasuo to a near 60% winrate and is the reason triforce got its crit removed. So maybe after the crit got removed. But no. Before that it was stupid broken.

crit from triforce was removed for many reasons yasuo was not a part of those reasons 60% win rate build oh my gosh that is so op wait if you look up opgg of any champion there are 3 item buys that always result in a 60%+ win rate i guess those champions are just straight up op too or the items are op ? https://euw.op.gg/champion/masteryi/statistics/jungle here is a 44% win rate champion with a build that is reaching near 70% win rate i guess riot is nerfing yi for a reason https://euw.op.gg/champion/galio/statistics/support here is a 45% win rate champion he even has a 73% win rate OH MY GOD RIOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING NERF GALIO ALREADY

every statistic is to be taken with a grain of salt top offtank yasuo had high success rate because he wasn't dying not because he was strong tank ekko was also really strong but it was because he wasn't dying not because was doing a lot of dmg or being bonkers it was just a consistent build for an inconsistent champion when the delta of winrate for a champion is 20% and you find a build that reduces that delta to 10% it's only natural for you to feel it's strong when in reality it really isn't

Oh really? Enlighten me then. Why was crit removed from triforce, and why did it just happen to occur when frozen force yasuo was in the meta, and one of the top tier builds?

Oh really? Enlighten me then. Why was crit removed from triforce, and why did it just happen to occur when frozen force yasuo was in the meta, and one of the top tier builds?

short story: Tri force : wasted stats: mana/cdr/ cons: low atk speed/low crit/ low ad /low hp pro/con: sheen effect (becomes quickly irrelevant after few levels due to lack of ad scaling) Massive Con 3800 gold cost Compared to statik shivv Pros: Great atk speed/high crit/strong proc for an all in(mixed damage) Cons: no health no ad Massive Pro: it cost 2600 gold

Ie you were getting a bigger bang for your buck for 1200 gold less ie you would require 4 kills less to be considerably stronger

triforce was changed because of champions like quinn and corki who hard abused it melee champions even crit users like Yi and Trynd didn't want it melee users only had cleaver for offensive options riot wanted triforce to be a melee centric item along side with all the above problems with it

removing crit was a way to add power to the item in a way that many champions can appreciate instead of a select few that can abuse it to the maximum like quinn and corki

are you by any chance tired of spell casting ezreal and want a sheen effect for a crit build?

Chembaron Yamada1 votes

Ezreal is not very likely to build this item even if it existed in my opinion.

His Q can't crit and Trinity Force has quite some upsides compared to the item suggested here, like more CDR, tankiness, more spellblade damage etc.

There are other marksmen who are way more likely to build something like this, which are weaving spells in their combo and actually want crit in their build, like: Xayah Lucian JhinCorki

his q would be used to prime the sheen as he will be building crit he would want to auto a lot so q not criting wouldn't affect him

as i said maybe he wants a crit build with sheen for ezreal weather this is good or not isn't the topic at question

I honestly hadn't considered any specific champions.

Ezreal would be a decent one for this item, imo. I really can't think of any particular marksman that this wouldn't be any good on. The base stats are super useful, mana, attack speed, critical strike chance, and CDR, .. what's not to like? There are even some special case, non-marksmen that I could see this being good on as well. Bard Braum Diana Karma Kayle Jayce Lulu Neeko Orianna Rakan Skarner possibly a few others.

I see this item as a way to slightly flatten out burst (vs sustained damage) over a slightly longer series of attacks. The player would lose a little power in burst when compared to Trinity Force, but gain some power in sustained damage because TF doesn't do much for subsequent attacks, and doesn't have great synergy with sustained damage builds. This is also considerably cheaper than TF, so it draws the power spike closer to the early game.

They all benefit from sheen because they all have on-hit effects or abilities that build off of hit counts. They are all casters. They all use mana. They all benefit from CDR. I'll agree that none of them really use critical strike, and that they aren't usually built around dealing damage from their basic attacks. This is why I considered them special cases because they aren't marksmen, but when using this item, they would shift their power curve from burst to sustained damage.

And downvote my "metaslave" comment all you like. It is really annoying when people try to dismiss things that don't currently exist in the game because the game isn't balanced in a way that allows for it to exist. ... NO SHIT! Why would Riot balance a game around something that doesn't exist? That would be stupid! Adding things to the game requires a shift in more than just that one thing. Changing the way you think and adapting to a CONSTANTLY changing meta is a big part of this game.
