Did the Yasuo changes affect anyone's opinion on him?

vOmvbrawfU··44 votes·2,740 views

I mean, losing 10 AD early, but gaining 20% bonus AD didn't exactly change mine. I know I'm still banning him every single game. My guess is that it changed nobody's opinion on him whatsoever. So my point is, why waste time doing a "nerf" like that if it's not going to change anything lol? I don't think it's going to make him noticeably weaker at all. (not that I'll notice because he will still be banned every game)

He'll be permabanned until they make him less annoying. Nerf him all you want, he will still be banned to keep him off your own team at that point. Balance is irrelevant to the Yasuo problem. He's just an anti-fun champion and needs a rework to fix.

Only time I leave him open is if I'm mid or top so there is a chance I'll get to lane into him and ruin the day of some toxic weeb.

Scruberz12 votes

nope, he's still on the permaban list

So then what's the point of even wasting time with the changes? I mean, did rito actually think removing 10 AD on an ability (but giving him 20% AD scaling...cuz compensation) would change anyone's mind on the champion? It's not going to change any of the problems people have with Yasuo.

I just don't understand it. They could have even slightly nerfed one of the issues people actually have with him. If it wasn't enough, then they could have went further with it. But to slightly nerf an ability that isn't even used much for it's damage, and then compensate it, doesn't make any sense to me.

It will defnitely make him much weaker early game, since he maxes E. now he only gains 10 dmg per rank instead of 20.

But as long as his kit stays, he will still be annoying.

vOmvbrawfU5 votes

He doesn't lose the full 10 because he was given compensation lol.

venomous frost2 votes

afaik all yasuo's rush a zeal item = no AD

vOmvbrawfU3 votes

Not much, but I think runes/masteries give bonus AD. Plus Dorians. Like I said, probably not much but still some.

And now, what if Yasuo players just do the marksmen build where they rush BF and then crit item? Now he gains more damage on his E than before the "nerf" lel.

NightmareAmazoX3 votes

None rush IE first at high elo, Yasuo needs AS.

Narasimha8 votes

Compensation that doesn't even begin to match up until he gets over 200 AD. Even then , it's a net nerf because the new ratio doesn't build up like the base damage does.

Scruberz9 votes

What it tells me is that they didn't actually want to nerf Yasuo, but felt forced to because of all the complaints they get about the champion daily.

They are hoping a minor nerf will allow them to put a picture of Yasuo next to the "nerfed champions" patch note and appease the people who have been complaining.

It may bring down his ban rate for 2-3 weeks until people realize nothing really changed and he's still the same toxic champion he's always been.

It's 10 ad that scales per level. So he is losing -50ad at rank 5 e which is a big blow. Not only that the ad ratio is nothing special. Yasuo will need around 250 bonus ad for his E to do the damage it did before the nerf. So yes this nerf does take him down a couple levels and there might be more the way.

vOmvbrawfU1 votes

He isn't losing 50 AD.

Base damage lowered to 60/70/80/90/100 from 70/90/110/130/150]

At rank 5 it does 100 instead of 150 so what are you talking about?

vOmvbrawfU1 votes

And gaining 20% bonus AD scaling. So he isn't losing 50 damage. Just clarifying for you.

  1. Yasuo does not rush any ad as he needs item 3046 first so his e will be weaker for an extended period of time.

  2. As I've said before a max rank & fully stacked E now deals 150 damage (previously 225), 75 damage difference (that's huge). Yasuo will need 375 bonus AD to compensate for the nerf at max stacks and 250 bonus AD to compensate with no stacks.

The .2 AD scaling seriously is not much.

this is the -3 base AD Vayne nerf all over again

Nothing but a joke and completely ignoring the real problem.

This is very much going the way of Kalista, a champion is shown to be a VERY big problem but they only do love taps or nerf/buff areas while completely ignoring the main issues before saying "Fuck it" and nerfing them to the point where they are useless until ether enough champions are around to counter the issue or until they are reworked (See: Poppy)

FPSKILLERBOB1 votes

What is "the real problem"?

Tik1153 votes

His mobility making him near impossible to grab, his windwall killing any projectiles IN ADDITION to his mobility making it so only point and click none projectile CC is effect with none projectile skillshot being mildly effective and his double crit passive making it so he can not only spike far faster then any other champion but means a hypermobile champion can be super tanky and impossible to escape, Guess who had a similar problem with high damage but built tank and was a problem? Ekko

His real problem is NOT his damage his problem is his gimmicks, like how the real problem with Kalista is NOT her Rend, that is an annoyance at most, the real problem is her passive but they hardly touched the problem and just gutted everything else

The -3 base AD Vayne nerf brought her win rate from nearly 54% to under 51%.

Hopefully one day you will realize how little you know about the game.

Hopefully one day you will realize that perception has a huge influence on reality. More specifically, a perceived nerf or buff can have a larger impact on winrate than the actual changes.

"There was one time when I was pretty new at Rito where I submitted a Vladimir nerf (removing the bonus speed from his pool) but forgot to actually submit the files into the patch. As a result, the patch notes went out and sentiment was that we had killed the champion. Vladimir’s play rate plummeted and his win rate decreased a bit, even though the changes never actually went out.

We had a similar instance when Riven was released where she was viewed as very weak. We hotfixed in some buffs and shortly after posting it to the forums, her play rate spiked and feedback was very positive. Players happily reported how great the buffs felt, even though the hotfix hadn’t actually gone live yet."

Yasuo will maintain a fairly high banrate in low elos because people would rather complain to Riot so that the game is made easier for them, rather than adapting.

Like you.

vOmvbrawfU4 votes

Not sure how you came to conclusion that I'm complaining to rito to make the game easier. Yasuo is the easiest champ to play against already, I just ban him. Simple. I'm guessing that you have a fuzzy patch of hair around your neck region.

NightmareAmazoX7 votes

If is the easiest champ in the game for you, What's the reason to ban him? You waste a precious ban on someone who is the easiest to play against for you? Not that much of competitive are you?

Those with reading comprehension skills understood that Yasuo is the easiest champ BECAUSE I just ban him.

it has been in the past as riot has nerfed champions simply for being obnoxious to lane again as is the case with yasuo

This nerf actually hits yasuo quite harder than you, think. I hate yasuo. I'm happy with this change, it'll hit his god like early game to the point where it scales late as it's suppose to

This change makes yasou from being a god early game and mid game and a hyper carry late game to Piece of shit early game, 50/50 mid game, a bigger god in the late game.

This is basically riot saying we will shift yasuo's strength's from early game to late game as we intended. They are fixing the mistake they made with his existence. Now we have a chance to shit on him in lane without the need of our jungler.

Valeckserai5 votes

Except that they took 50 damage away from his e at rank 5. Your argument is only valid until level 4. Considering that this is the first ability that Yasuo usually maxes, this lowers the power he has in lane, which people have been asking for for a long time now. It shifts his power into later game. And since he doesn't build full ad the 20% ratio does't add back a whole lot of damage either. Based on the build that is shown on champion.gg as his best, he would gain 35 damage from the 20% bonus ad ratio (not counting runes). Overall it isn't a huge nerf, it just makes his laning a little harder. And he doesn't deserve a huge nerf either. He isn't broken, he's just annoying.

vOmvbrawfU2 votes

His late game is very very strong. I'm not sure he needs to also have a good laning phase. But, he can't even hit you with his E damage that often for it to be that big of a nerf in my opinion.

I mean, we shall see how it works out. I just think there's a lot of people like me that don't think this nerf did anything to him and are still going to be banning him every game lol.

Valeckserai5 votes

Eh, it won't do a whole lot but it's a step in the right direction. One thing that I think it will do is affect his cs and engaging. His e is the reason that he can engage on people so much but still keep up in cs, and nerfing the damage on this will make it a little harder to reliably get cs and still be able to engage as much. This won't affect high elo that much due to increased mechanical skill, but in lower and mid elo where he is considered very annoying it will affect him somewhat.

Project omen3 votes

When was the last time Riot reworked a champion because he was frustrating?

Nameless Voice3 votes

Poppy Yorick Most people have forgotten about them because they had such low play-rates before their reworks, which in turn was because they were so frustrating / unfun to play against when they were strong that they were intentionally over-nerfed to stop them from ruining games.

Urgot, Kalista and Azir are also in a similar state - intentionally over-nerfed because their kits are unhealthy / unfun / unfair to play against.

Sadly, the same does not apply to Yasuo. He's a worse offender than any of the above (with the possible exception of Kalista), yet they are unwilling to to over-nerf him until they can fix him properly - probably because of his insanely high play-rate... or, uh, it would be, if he wasn't always banned.

Aetherium Blade3 votes

I am actually finding Yasuo less annoying to deal with the more I go against him. It's still annoying, but I don't ban him anymore to say the least.

GrReaper963 votes

For those who dont know

Sweeping Blade (E) Base damage lowered to 60/70/80/90/100 from 70/90/110/130/150] 20% Bonus AD ratio added. [NOTE: Bonus AD ratio is not increased by multiple casts]

Honestly this actually effects his late game more than his early, which by then he doesnt care about his E damage anyways

drakuIa4212 votes

people underestimate this nerf so much, all they care about is that he got compensation "buffs".

  1. You only max Q first if you are against match ups whom can dive you under tower once they get that small item power spike combined with level 6 like Renekton Irelia Akali Olaf Pantheon Tryndamere
