Especially during mid game, she seems relevant only when she's fed. Am I bad at the champion or is the champion bad by herself?

Nahui1 votesLucian got his head pulled off with nerfs. Well deserved too. But, Riot is letting Lucian finally enjoy some time not being top ADC. Not to say he is bad, he still sees lots of pro play (One Trick Doublelift at LCS currently).
XIII Vanitas1 votesWell, Lucian was bad for a long period of time, after they hit him (at the end of S4?) with the nerf hammer. This pre-season brought him back to the spotlight and he definitely needed to be nerfed once again, but maybe he was hit too hard.
Simply put, I think it's unfair for the players that love a certain champion to experience this rollercoaster. Maybe Riot needs a slightly unbalanced game in order to keep their general playerbase entertained, but it just sucks for the mains.
IronwallJackson1 votesTristana's midgame is bad. That's just a fact, and it's been true for some time. The time between getting your IE and Zeal item finished is pretty rough, which is why Rageblade was good on her to help smooth out the transition.
Not only that, but Tristana is also something of a late-game scaling champion, not to the same extent as Kog'Maw or Vayne, but that's definitely when she's strongest. Basically, it's the same issue that all other hypercarries have, only with the midgame power trough.

Don't even finish IE first, just get Runnan's after BF, probably a better path and you can wave clear early game and use the passive to duel 1v2 during the laning phase.
Been fighting so far that I finaly got level 7 as her... I even had to play Tristana top lane to earn my S ranks. It works, but only against certain match ups.
XIII Vanitas1 votesThat's the build path I usually follow, but she feels so weak mid game. Her damage is consistent only when she's snowballing, which makes her really unreliable compared to the other carries.
JayHog19921 votesThen just stick with the team, try to shred towers and farm when you can, if you can stall the game, you might be able to beat the enemy lategame.

- I don't know if my teammates are smart enough and succeed into playing accordingly to our strength
- If my team comp is worse than the enemy team comp, winning is going to be really hard
- There are better late game carries, so it's not really worth to play for the late game as Tristana when you're fighting them
You can always capitalize on their mistakes.
If all fails, play her top lane solo against immobile tanks, works well, you have escapes and you can win your lane better than with most champions due to your E.
At least if you can't carry, the allied adc bot lane will.
