Things that make League unfun or dissatisfying.
The things that make League unfun are games where you win really hard but not because you did it but because someone else on your team just steamrolled another player. I feels like you spent 15 minutes sitting in lane farming just for the game to be over and then make you go into another game where you spend another 15 minutes farming, and either your team mate gets steamrolled or an enemy gets steamrolled. Players will complain about getting one shot by champions such as Zed, Akali, etc. But those champions to a high degree have a bunch of mechanical outplay potential. You just have to get really good at that. I am talking about things that no one can control or improve. Yes you can say. Get good and always get fed. But that just simply isn't always going to be the case. 10% chance of that happening every game vs 90% chance that someone else gets fed. Another thing that makes League Unfun is the consistent changes to champions that people pick up. Like Ryze for me. I picked up Ryze when he got reworked this time around. Because my Malzahar was just changed, and permabanned. So i couldn't even play my original favorite champion, so I picked up a new one. Only for the BOTH of them to get gutted. Malzahar now emphasizes playing as a CC bot, where he used to emphasize as a tank killer and potential damage threat. His damage is too unreliable. Ryze went from being good in solo queue with bad win rate because people didn't understand him to awful in solo queue because Pro's picked him up. Which then leads into another issue. Its almost a 100% that when a champion is played by pros that champion is going to get some nerfs. As long as they aren't under one or two players picking them. So the cycle works like this.
Player's A - Z pick up Champion A. Champion A gets nerfed.
Player's A - Z pick up Champion B, after Champion A got nerfed.
Champion C gets buffed because no one is playing Champion C.
Player's A - Z pick up Champion C, Champion B is left untouched in the same state.
Champion C gets nerfed from too much play. Champion B comes Back.
Champion D comes into rotation because people learn or get better at using Champion D as a counter to Champion B.
People find out that Champion A is good against Champion D and Champion B. So Champion A is selected again.
Champion A is "too Strong" so Champion A gets nerfed, even though Champion A is only strong because Champion A is strong against the other Meta Picks.
And this is pretty much how pro play goes. They don't ever go REALLY far out of meta picks to try new things. Because if they do, they normally get punished.
Which makes it very anti-fun to play the game by a biweekly state. You go play your champion and feel fine only to come back a few days later and see that now you lose every match up that was a tie, and now tie out in match ups that you were winning. An example of this is Ryze in Solo queue. Prior to all of the 2017 nerfs. Ryze could Eat 6 balls from Syndra and a Q W E. And still be able to kill her, because of his shields. Given that was too strong, but its an example. Now Ryze gets hit by E W 5 Ball Q. and he is dead. Not even landing a Q from Syndra. Or Talon, Talon used to be able to full rake, Q R. And Ryze could easily survive. Now Ryze will insta die to that. Not to mention, it only made his match ups that were a tie or bad, worse. Azir, Anivia, Karthus, Cass, All gave Ryze a run for his money when he was in his "strong" state. Now Ryze just loses to them with no chance of really beating them without them screwing up. The problem with this is how inconsistent everything is. All due to pro play. Either make it so that you come with a disclaimer on a champion saying "This champion is extremely volatile and will most likely get nerfed due to pro play." or Don't be dumb and make things that clearly look like they are meant for team coordinated play. Azir Ulti, Ryze Ulti, Viktor Ulti. People don't like feeling like because they played a champion before they were picked up in pro, and then got picked up in pro that they get gimped. I've done the change twice now. From Nidalee to Malzahar, from Malzahar to Ryze. Now I am waiting to see Ryze rework to see if I even want to stay on him.
NOW the dissatisfying part.
When you win but you don't win because of your own skill, but because someone else was just dumb. Such as, I am play Malzahar, and the enemy APC walks towards me to harass when they don't have sight on my team. And we push 3 towers and 1 inhib at 22 minutes, because the enemy APC died, and now the enemy team is in a 4 v 5 where they can't do anything because they would just die, instead of being able to maybe trade 4 deaths for 3 kills. It would normally turn out to be a 4 for 1 or 2. At best.
plenty of other reasons but seriously. Fix the fun and dissatisfying parts first.
