Why not offer free Legacy / PAX / Custom skins to veterans as rune grind compensation?
The situation is:
i) Veterans are angry because they've spent years grinding runes only to get roughly 20% of the grind worth refunded in BE when they could have spent that on Champions instead.
ii) New players will instantly get access to the rune reforged masteries like everyone else. That means roughly 80% of veterans grind time has been wasted.That's months of players life's wasted.
iii) RIOT reps have gone on record as saying champion sales make a large part of the game's revenue. Ergo giving champions away as compensation is bad business. I can;t fault them for that, the business is there to make money............But keeping customers happy is also good business sense.
.........So............why not give veterans a 'Free' legacy or unique pax skin or two of their choice? Better yet each year you make an SK skin set......why not create a veterans skin set and let us pick 1/2 of them??
One time skin development costs. A thank you to the fans that helped give LOL the support it needed to go mainstream. Veterans feel valued. Everybody wins.
It makes perfect sense. If RIOT are the games company it tells us it aspires to be do this. It really would be a huge thank you and come at very little, if any, financial overhead for you.
