half of the top of challenger right now is top lane champs. Top lane has the most powerful champs.
LCS shows top lane being the most dominant lane in the game.
Every stat has top lane being the best lane in the game.
I guess we can just ignore all the evidence and keep pretending top lane is irrelevant.

soloQ and LCS are two different things. in soloQ u use meta champs to have an easier life in LCS u abuse meta champs because they are statistically more effective and they play for a living.
but if u are OTP maybe u can play other offmeta champs. just by putting more experience and effort.
on EU board , the dogma is "riot promote - all champs can be played on all lanes - " i disagree. but who cares.

Try playing ahri in high elo in this patch, or any non meta mid laner.
Try playing lucian or caitlyn in this patch bot lane, its going to be even worse.

Guy never admits his mistakes and losses are never his fault according to him, goes 1/5/4 and still says "i couldn't have done anything better", loses game then proceeds to point out how he stomped the enemy jungler but in the end he might have had 15-20 more cs but less kill partecipation.
Toplane feels terrible to play. Every game is Gnar or Camille or Gangplank. If you don't get any of those 3 it's hard to say something in the game. And they are banned a lot of times. You can pick a tank when they are banned/picked because there is nothing else to play and pray your team is good because you ain't gonna carry the game alone with a tank.

I have no idea what you're talking about. His most recent video he was playing Eve and said "I missed a bunch of Es I played this early game really bad" or something to that extent. Feels like you have a bias view of him.

Shahamut1 votesThe reason top lane sucks so much right now is how bad counter picking is. If you first pick, you are pretty screwed if you don't play certain champs. Once your champ is locked in, the counter picking makes top lane VERY one sided a majority of the time.
Then you have certain champions like Nasus, who's "weak early game" has been erased by the rune changes: He has WAY more survivability, and a lot of his best counters are much weaker (Renekton). OR you have things like Illaoi who, even if I go 3/0 vs her and have a 20+ cs lead, will still somehow solo you because she hit 6 and completed a single item. These picks are almost ALWAYS picked 2nd into lanes they know they can survive easier (Nasus) or abuse even if behind (Illaoi).
It never feels like (in my experience) that I can simply "out skill" my top lane opponent and win lane that way. Either Im counter picked and stat checked, or Im stonewalled by something I can't kill.
That has been my experience this season.
