PSA: For everyone saying "Hurr, support items can't have AP because FQC"

The item was taken mid because it made mana non-existent after 500 gold. Frostfang had 100% mana regen and FQC had 150% mana regen.

If something made mana a non-issue while paying for itself WHILE giving a bit of damage, yeah, it'd probs be rushed. It's not taken mid now because the mana regen isn't freaking busted. Thus, can we stop with that silly argument?

I thought people bought it mid because of how strong the active used to be. I'm sure the mana regen was another good portion of it but the active allowed them to easily hit their CC on targets.

It's both. They nerfed both repeatedly.

FQC is merely a perfect example of why support items cannot be focused on AP offensive power. There are already defensive support AP items for the enchanters.

It's why you can't have ap on a blatantly powerful effect with a blatantly overdone set of stats. The type of effects one can make just need to be tied to things like:

  • Requiring allies to use.

  • Not effecting yourself.

  • Giving a smaller amount of ap.

and so on. Still a better idea than overloading on heal/shield and hp items.
