@Riot, A change to Anivia that I think would help a lot

Anivia, we all know her as post-6, the wave is gone.

But now her ultimate is very small and grows to the same size as it normally USED to be, Now what I think would be better is to start her ultimate off a little bit shorter than old normal, and make it expand at a gradual pace larger and larger, king of like AurelionSol Q.

PLEASE just revert the R changes. This is so freaking dumb, I can't even play Anivia anymore because that R gives me Ebola. That R change completly ruined all possible combos and mechanics for experienced Anivia players.

They did it because she was a massive counter to most melee champs. Her ult was a super zoning tool, and now that it's gone, I won't have to outplay her super hard twice to kill her.

It was kinda the point.

Champion Update decided that Anivia should not be about bursty combos, but rather zone control.

But they didn't remove her burst combo. They made it almost impossible to achieve, but E still does double damage. They also didn't improve her zone control. They actually made it strictly weaker until it has been sitting out for 3 seconds.

That isn't how you balance a champion, and it doesn't come close to addressing what they think Anivia "should" be.

If something is "almost impossible" to perform, then by definition is as good as gone in most situations.

You are right that they didn't improved her zone control (I think it is to early to tell if is strictly worse all in all), but by removing her burst capability, they effectively made her more focused on disruption (Also increasing her disruption potential: More powerful CC).

As for the idea that this isn't how you balance champion, you are totally right. These changes are gameplay-driven, not balance-driven. The design of a champion looks only at the champion itself, while balance has to consider other things that may affect the champion's performance.

How to fix the Anivia changes.

Revert them.

I just wish it hit max size quicker.

How to fix it

  1. If anivia is channeling R and lands an E crit (from chilled from R or Q) it instantly grows to max size
  2. At max size anivias R also gains the grounded debuff for those inside of it (no dashing while in it)
  3. Her R no longer gains bonus damage or slow but the slow value has been changed to 20/35/50%

Q slow is now scaling at 20/20/35/50% as well with R LVL

Lastly her W should have the passive "increases chilled duration by 10/20/30/40/50% (making Q and R slow longer)

This would make anivia a true hailing terror because of her R now being "her zone" meaning her slow MS means nothing if she is running from an enemy through it because she will be faster and they cannot dash (this is after full charger for grounded debuff)

This isn't OP because of the number of ways to interupt her R or force her to cancel it or move away from it or dash before the full growth to stop the grounding effects

The problem with the R changes is her R no longer has the feel of "this is my zone and if the enemy is in it I am in control" because it takes so long for it to grow that the fight has already moved or she is being forced away from her R
