I don't understand trundle

how is it that he can build only tank items yet deal so much damage to champions and turrets? not only that, his E give such a crazy amount of Utility. -_-

It would probably help if you tried to play Trundle a couple times in order to get how his kit works. Most Trundles i've seen build at least 1 damage item, but here's why it can be hard to kill Trundle by yourself (as i'll assume you've been doing):

His Q (chomp) not only slows you, but steals AD. This obviously means that the more he can do this to you in a skirmish, the bigger an advantage he has.
His W (Frozen Domain) gives a crazy AS and MS steroid, and greatly increases the healing he gets from his passive. Much like Singed's poison trail, and Rumble's Ult (but to a lesser extent), you want to avoid fighting him in that area when you can help it.
His ultimate steals defensive stats; this is what makes him a counter-pick to tank-heavy compositions. This makes him pretty good in a team fight, but also makes his 1 v 1 even better.

In case you didn't know, Trundle (especially when he has a couple items) is one of the best duelists in the game, and if the game goes on long enough you will need teamwork to deal with him.

Early in the game, he's not that strong; he's vulnerable to kiting, and has little solo kill pressure in lane (unless you dive him under turret or something). He'll usually build a damage item first, so until he gets his following tank items he's not that hard to kill.

I mean if you only try to 1v1 it, yeah, it is very strong. Being someone who has played trundle, I feel significantly weaker in teamfights than I do in 1v1's / 2v2's
