Is Q-animation cancelling really necessary to master Riven?

Not talking about animation cancelling, like hydra-W-etc-etc.

I'm referring to AutoAttack--Q-MOVE- repeat. This can greatly reduce the time needed to burst and but I can only pull it off on stationary jungle monsters.

Any pro Riven players out there who can answer my question?

yes, does not take a master Rivan player to understand this.

Of course it is required to master her. But it is far from required to play her extremely well. This particular cancel is not even the big kicker on Riven. If you watch BoxBox tutorial he even says "It works best on stationary targets, you won't end up using this much."

The primary cancels that are important are input combos for abilities and items. Things like E-R-Tiamat-W-AA-Q-R for example.

This is riots BAD coding at work.

If you calculate the bonus burst she gets from doing it you see how broken her kit is.

Imagine a Kat who could Q and E burring her ult animation because of a bug or If Illaoi could auto attack and get her Q off because of animation canceling.

These bugs would be fixed ASAP

But Riven bugs are "OK" because for one Riot does not know how to fix the bug and would have to invest a lot of time and two it makes "Sick Plays" {tm}

Many champions can animation cancel. For example Renekton can Tiamat his stun. Shyvana can Tiamat into E. Graves can E-Q, E-W, E-R.

And any champion can animation cancel with flash.

Katarina's ult is a channeled ability. It is entirely unrelated.
