The first person who is triggered would be the one who is triggered about supported doing a crucial job and not getting recouldnision for it but when they protect their own lives from dieing at the expense of not doing their job like carries do and only come in to last hit enemies for that penta the carries are the first ones to complain but we cant get a little follow up on our engage.

Fair enough, but the notion that supports should get a special accolade for just "helping" their team do well is still one of the stupidest suggestions you can find on these boards. If that were the case, the entire team would get a light show since they'd all have taken part in the achievement.

Do you have any idea how hard it is for Sona players to press E and follow their adc's? Fuck man, supports should be given a special announcement when a Penta happens in the vision radius of a ward they put down.

Oh I guess landing all your CC and peeling/shielding/healing them so they could get that penta had absolutely no impact whatsoever on whether they succeeded or not.

If Supports don't deserve recognition for DOING THEIR JOB WELL, neither does any other role. Oh you got a Penta? so the fuck what, its your job to kill them all just like its my job to help you kill them all.

They deserve recognition equal to their contribution. Unless the person getting the penta is just so ridiculously fed they can 1v5, they most likely didn't do it alone. So why does the person getting the Penta get like all the recognition? I am not begging for people to thank me but don't sit there saying "oh man I am god i just 1v5'd" when I was there saving them and ccing their enemies so it was even possible.

You are right, they don't deserve extra special recognition, but who is asking for that? Saying "thanks [Insert Support Here], couldn't have done it without you" is all that needs to be said.

Yet you get Top/mid/jg that will say Nice job (Insert adc here) completely ignoring the fact the support was there helping the adc.

And most ADCs won't even add, Thanks for the save or thanks for (insert status) on them so I can kill them.

Support is highly under appreciated. But I personally could care less if I get a ty or not. I know what I did and that the adc wouldn't have gotten the kill without me. I do appreciate the ones that do say thanks for the save and nj (insert support champ).

And these ppl that are saying get rid of supports....do they fail to realize that every Moba has a 5v5 lane set up with 1 top/offlane/left lane, 1 mid lane, 1 jg, and 2 bot/safelane/left lane. With the 2 being an attack damage carry and a support.

Supports are key the game... It would be like saying to get rid of healers in MMOs.

I think you're assuming the general behavior of your team too much. On top of that, yeah, people are saying remove support because they, and many others, don't want to play it.

I just think it's funny that people think that others saying "Thank you" or the game going "PENTA ASSIST!!!!!!" is somehow going to make the game better for support players. It isn't. I think two people caught on to that over the life of this thread up to this point.

People only want more recognition in a competitive game, support or not, if they're insecure.

If you're climbing, you should be confident that you are a good support.

Supports don't want more credit for buffing someone.

They want more recognition for those mass aoe cc moments, clutch saves, and sick engages. They'll happily take the assist gold for that buff, but that's not the moment they want more recognition for.

Otherwise, they just want ADC's who are doing well to remember why they survived lane phase, and came out ahead. It's rarely on the raw strength of the ADC.

But people "hear it." There is instant, game acknowledged, kudos for doing something.

Personally, I don't give a fuck. I know when I'm doing well, but one of the current theories of how to get more people to play support is to give some kind of in-game feedback.

I have absolutely no fucking idea how they would ever implement that properly though. Would probably end up as silly as Overwatch's play of the game.

So now there needs to be some in-game programming that pats the support on the back especially hard in comparison to everyone else for doing the same work? Riot's been working on this whole "visibility" angle for a while, and it isn't working. It's now to the point where Locket tells you how much has been shielded by it per match. Visibility isn't the problem with supporting.

Enjoy your brain hemmorage when you dont get your helmet then. considering you literally ride on the supports shoulders for the first 15 minutes of the game. Its not an accident that your support may end up feeding early they are stronger than you early deal more damage and have more utility for the first 7 levels of the game unless they fed you 5 kills in 7 mins they are gonna be the one targeted early because as an adc you dont mean much besides your poke skill' high base damage in a sustained fight before you get a full item and a half.

What the supports want to be recognized is not those shit, but rather the behind the camera things, like all the wards they put out, all the visions they cleared, etc.

No one's going to do that. Even if the game had a system where a little light show or something would go off while you're clearing wards for clearing X amount of them, or placing Y amount of them, that type of visual reward would seem...petty. Like chump change.
