@Riot: Since you forgot, I'll ask again - We need a "Warded" ping!

Ever had a moment where you want to tell an ally a spot is warded, but you can't take the time to type it out (i.e. you're dodging skill-shots) and using other pings will result in misinterpretation? Then when your teammate gets ambushed because he was spotted, you get blamed.

Pretty stupid, IMO.

To fix this issue, and let us tell our teammates "That spot's warded" in a hurry, we need a ping that says "Warded". In fact, I recall seeing some assets for that appearing once on PBE, but they were promptly removed and never seen again. What gives?

Any context to why we don't have one yet, Riot?

Have one for warning about wards, and have another for requesting wards.

This.

You could call it "Warded" and "Ward it" i know it sounds similar but that'd be fun

It just needs to be "Ward".

Danger + Ward = enemy ward in the area Assist me + Ward = please ward this

seen some people use the missing (question mark) on bushes to ask if warded, and the caution(the red one) to answer it is or the normal blue ping to say it isnt.

but i agree we could use a warded ping.

I agree with having a ward ping, I don't agree with having a marker stay there for a minute or so-- This just gives you too much information without having to really put any thought into it.

Markers would probably be a no-no, as ping-spammers could use it to clutter up their teammates minimaps as a form of griefing.

Players should have better map awareness.

Most players are stupid, though. Said ping would reduce frustration and improve communication. I don't see a real downside besides players who might complain about "TOO MUCH NOISE!!!"

The jungler or mid probably isn't going to notice the enemy graves acting kind of funny when you go to ward river bush, heading over from tri. I would also adore this! I'm not really good at typing and playing at the same time, and sometimes people straight-up auto-mute the whole team, or are Skyped and ignore chat. Pings are necessary, and this ping is necessary, too.

Instead of pings we should have Mini-Map markets that expire after the ward in the area goes down for example if a ward lasts 120 seconds and a person places a marker there that says its warded then the area will show on your teams minimap a marker that says warded for X number of seconds or until your team removes the ward.

That would completely negate the usefulness of stealth wards, though...

Yeah. Even have it stay as a small dot for 1m or something.

For now you can tell people a certain ping at the start of a match, like I know some junglers will say ping a certain ping for if you need help, or certain ping if you want a gank. You could say at start of match, "Red ping means area is warded by enemy" or you could just use the be careful ping

Riot pls give us this

this way I'll have an easier job warning my jungler so they can stay hidden for longer

They gave fairly good context at the tie they brought it down. I'm damned if I remember/can be arsed to find it though.

Mouse movement in 4 general directions is easy and fine. Add any more and you'll start to get mis-pings when in a rush.

TenaciousKz1 votes

Keep the 4 directions, and put another option next to it. like Ward This < Caution <0> Danger > Warded You just need to move your mouse a few pixels further.

yes we do

I think we need a ping that says "look at your map" that automatically maximizes the persons map so they will watch what is happening.

We could also use a "Hey uhhhh could somebody ward this?" ping.
