Can Ahri receive a real nerf?

ZeeWolfZ··20 votes·1,754 views

Ahri has been one of the most dominant champions in the game for several seasons.

Riot refuses to nerf her because she is another favorite champion just like Lee Sin, Riven, Yasuo, and Zed.

The only way to balance out Ahri at this point is to give her some penalty in her kit.

Her Q is far too overloaded and she isn't punished for using her empowered Q when she misses her stack.

Plus she gains free mobility from her Q while she has 3 flashes on a very low cooldown.

Have I mentioned True damage on her Q as well?

She is far too overloaded and requires real high skill-high reward kit.

None of theose are actually OP. Lee is getting nerfed because the jungle got nerfed in a way that the meta suited him. But he isnt really OP also he literally JUST GOT A NERF. Riven isnt OP. she is a lane bully. Yasuo..... cancer but not OP. Zed isnt OP. There is so many anti burst tools in the game now.

Her Q is far too overloaded

3 flashes

We call this an ultimate ability that is primarily for mobility thanks to its reletively low damage in comparison to her Q

We have an Ahri main here.

don't think an actual ahri main would call 450 base damage + 90% ap aoe ability "low damage" tbh.

?

Its 150 damage with a .3 scaling (just checked the wiki)

While it DOES equate to 450 damage. it doesnt equate to .9 scaling. thats just not how math works. Especially with items that reduce MR after hitting spells. It just doesnt.

0.3*3 does not equal .9

you fucking what

Just check my match history bud. Go into your client and type in rewt127. Then go to full match history. you will not see an ahri game on there for like 7 months.

I checked your profile. But it was not for your match history since i believed you, it was to check your rank and see how deep of a game knowledge do you actually have, and well it explains why do you disagree with the mostly true statemants above...

literally none of those statements were true XD. Ahri has been Average for multiple seasons and only dominant This season. What you said is just objectively false.

Your "Fav champions" argument holds no water. Lee Sin has been continuously nerfed. and the others dont need it. And people like to call for nerfs on Lee Sin instead of actually looking at why he is dominant and understanding that its changes to the jungle that are needed. Not 1 champ.

Her Q isnt overloaded. Its a kite mage ability. Its a forward and back ability with Movespeed. They even took damage off of it when they gave it the MS. What you have said here is also just objectively false.

And the Ultimate doesnt really do much damage. Its 150 damage with a .3 AP ratio. Its more for positioning than damage. Sure after 3 hits it starts to do some serious damage but because of the delay it makes it a pretty bad ability for damage. Its really just for dashing around in a fight. While it is an incredible ability it isnt overpowered in the slightest. It could use a bit of a CD nerf but its nowhere near problematic.

EDIT: I dont feel like retyping but yea didnt realize you weren't the OP so yea ignore the "your"s in there.

This is why you were a low silver last season and unranked this season who will sit in low bronze.

love this garbage that tries to make a champions kit sound op by describing their abilities

ahri is nothing compared to lee lol. if lee were gutted then yes we could call him ahri :P

Oh sure, they could definitely give her a proper nerf like removing that fucking Q speed boost, but that would make them look like they made a mistake. And they reeeeaaally hate admitting they were ever wrong about something...so they're doing what they always do when faced with an obvious problem - hit literally everything except the issue.

Get rid of the ms boost Riot. This change is 2 and a half years overdue.

You can make any champion sound broken by describing their abilities. To be honest, I've never even seen Ahri as the "Most dominant champion for x years". She's barely been touched to put her anywhere. Maybe instead of nerfing her, we should be buffing champions to her level?

The only issue I see with her is her Q just does a tad too much damage early.

PS: If your arguement is "Kek BTFO Ahri main", I have 1 game on Ahri this season

Saianna2 votes

Say whatever you want but Ahri received a huge buff (MS speed oon casting Q) for free. And it was when she wasn't weak either and everyone expected Riot to actually nerf her.

So... Yea...

Raxistaicho3 votes

You ARE aware that wasn't the only balance change she took at that time, right?

Joseraph3 votes

She was buffed then because with the removal of one of her core items, and the removal of the damage amp on her Charm she probably wouldn't be able to operate as an assassin. And then she was nerfed the patch immediately afterwards, again in 5.16, only to never be bumped again (aside from bugfixes).

She isn't strong now because of some buffs, she's strong because all her counters were nerfed. So again, instead of nerfing Ahri, let's put her counters back in the game.

Saianna1 votes

She was buffed then because with the removal of one of her core items,

Someone forgot Veigars case where Riot "buffed" him. You see quote marks? Cause you know.. it wasn't a buff, but a nerf.

And actually EVERY FUCKING MAGE WAS NERFED BACK THEN... except Ahri.

The dmg amp on her charm was removed later. not in the same patch.

She isn't just strong cause of her counters being nerfed. It's because in this nerf-enviroment she stayed not nerfed for the longest. So obviously everything around her feels and plays like shit, while she is still pretty much god-like.

I don't know what case you're talking about

And actually EVERY FUCKING MAGE WAS NERFED BACK THEN... except Ahri.

In patch 5.2, only Cassio, Ahri, Sandra and Annie were touched, and only Cassio got a true nerf. Even if you include Fizz and Nidalee, everyone but Cassio got a power shift, or a buff.

In patch 5.3, Kennen, and Gragas(Is that guy even a mage?), were buffed,Ahri received a direct nerf to her Q, W, and R. But yes "EVERY FUCKING MAGE WAS NERFED BACK THEN...except Ahri"

The dmg amp on her charm was removed later. not in the same patch.

What world do you live in? What world do I live in?

Buffing champions to her level is the best way to make powercreep happen. It's also what happened to the jungle last year.

Also, Ahri's kit is just broken for a burst mage because her burst does not rely on any significant cooldowns (an ultimate) like other burst mages do.

I've heard the term power creep, and never understood what it meant. Also, S5&6 jungle was the best jungle meta we've had in my opinion. Just about everything I can think of could jungle then. The only problems I can remember were Vi and Hecarim

Also, Ahri's kit is just broken for a burst mage because her burst does not rely on any significant cooldowns (an ultimate) like other burst mages do.

This is the most coherent response I've ever received from anyone when I asked why Ahri is broken, and I thank you sir. Kudos. However, this makes me feel that the best way to nerf her tastefully (while leaving her kit intact) is to take away some of her damage, and leave her movement speed buff, making her the kite mage that Riot wanted her to be in 5.2

Riot mentioned they are looking to nerf her, either her W/R damage output (whether that means dmg or CD's we don't know) to reduce her consistency or a Q Mana cost increase/possible CD nerf to punish her for spamming it too much.

Her W is literally just to trigger thunderlords. Terrible numbers there. I would seriously laugh if that is something being monitored.

Fondling Gems1 votes

But the point is to reduce her consistent damage so she is more dependent on landing Q's and E's which it would do.

WorksAtAGayBar1 votes

They are already planning on nerfing her, they said they just don't know how yet. Also, her true damage is probably the healthiest true damage in the game, she has to hit her Q (skillshot) on the way back, which is on a cooldown, while most other champions with true damage are hitting you constantly with it and its usually percent health while Ahri's is a flat number based on scaling from her AP.

Sir Fuzzi1 votes

Couldn't they take away her speed boost and give her passive unique interactivity instead of just "eh, it heals I guess"?
