ARAM Champion Mastery??

I just played an ARAM game with a Sona.

She had a final kill score of 3/1/38, and participated in 41 out of the 42 kills we had. Her one death was an execution so she could go buy items. She was the 2nd highest in gold, and healed almost as much as the Soraka on the other team. She had 24 CS, which was perfectly fine because the CS was really going to our carries. She also helped with all structures that we took down.

After the other team surrendered, in the post-game lobby, I ask her what her champion rating was for the game.

A "B".

What are we missing here? I thought you get a higher rating from playing good, and yet here I am with a higher rating with an Amumu. If a 41 KDA and a 97.6% kill participation, along with a 100% tower destruction and 13.6k healing, isn't enough to net even an A, then what is?

It is VERY, and I mean VERY, hard to get a S rank in ARAM.

That said she is Sona. She has among the highest winrate in ARAM. High KDA, healing, and kill participation are common with her since she can easily get assists without ever even touching the enemy or specifically targeting an ally. She is going to be one of those champs that will be extremely hard to get S or high A ranks because almost every Sona in ARAM does well in the metrics listed. You will need a lot of CS to distinguish yourself, which is I'm guessing why that person just got a B. Also 3 kills isn't really a lot for Sona in ARAM, where most people go full AP with her.

Yea, not sure & I've had and have seen a ton games in aram that warranted at least a s- and gave an a, a+. U can't cs unless u actually try so that's not it... not sure what the algorithm is for aram but I'm guessing the length of the game has something to do with it. On a good note, most my keys n chests come from arams.

Because of the bots that have infested Aram, getting an S on certain characters is very difficult now. Sona is one of those characters. She may even be the most difficult because she can rack up assists like crazy. Also, I never seem to get an S when the other team surrenders. Not knowing the algorithm, I really don't know the exact reason.

It's hard to get S's on aram as any champ. It's hard to stand out on your own.

Supports are hard to get S's on too. It's still best to get kills and farm.

Enemy surrender also hurts your chances. Towers are a big deal to grade so if those were still up... You want to be there to get tower assists.
