Mistakes happen

Please do not tell someone that they suck. Period.

We all make mistakes.

We all have bad gameplay days.

We all misclick or mishit a key.

And we DEFINITELY all don't like being told by someone else that they suck.

Last game I played, I went a little too far forward, and ended up getting deleted. One of my teammates instantly told me that I sucked. Since I've been playing the game for awhile (and since it was morning) I brushed it off...

But what if I was a new player? I might've thought, "WTF? Is perfection the only way to go in this game? Am I going to have one of these toxic people in all of my games?" I might not want to play this game anymore, just because one person flamed me for king one mistake.

What if I was on the verge of tilting? I probably would've tilted. After all, mistakes aren't a huge deal, and my teammate is making it out to be.

In conclusion, if you ever catch yourself wanting to tell your team that they should uninstall because they didn't ward baron and it ended up getting taken, stop and think about this. Was part of this your fault? Is it really such a big deal?

And have you ever made any mistakes yourself?

Edit: Some people are taking this post the wrong way, so let me clarify. This is NOT about me complaining about someone who told me that I sucked.

This IS about telling the community, that just because someone isn't playing up to your standards doesn't give you the right to insult them! Every single one of us makes mistakes; there's no need to be mean about them.

This seems like a "Dear Diary" type of thread more then a "accept mistakes" thread. Accepting mistakes is just common sense. Don't get bent out of shape when your teammates can't grasp that shit happens.

At the same time, making mistakes =/= not taking advice. When I tell you, "Back up, I just saw their Lee Sin heading down the river to you" and you don't back up, you're not making a simple mistake, you're ignoring a warning.

people have the RIGHT to say negative things because they can speak their mind. However, saying anything negative to someone who has said nothing or done nothing negative toward you, makes you an asshole. speaking out negatively against others does NOTHING except express your own frustration and make other people feel worse. Regardless of how people act, you should try to act like an adult and just ignore negative behavior. Don't join them, BEAT them... by being a mature and respectable human. (use that mute button)

This is why no matter how hard I want to flame my teammates I never do it. I get aggressive, but I don't flame.

More often than not I find that people almost immediately recognize their own mistakes. They'll realize they misplayed the instant they initiated, or see that they were poorly positioned right after they get deleted. There's usually no need to criticize them after such occurrences because they'll already be berating themselves over it. When in doubt, bring it up but don't make it negative. Say stuff like "Man, what the heck was that?" or "dude, you're crazy" instead of "you're trash" or "why the hell did you do that?". Leave it positive or, at the very least, neutral. Oh, and emotes usually help lighten the mood and take the aggressiveness out of comments like these.

tl;dr "why xD" instead of "wtf is wrong with you"

I've found that not pressing the 'enter' key during games helps a lot. Game can be played without pressing that key :)

Not going to lie. I read "mis-hit" as "mi-shit." Just going to leave this here.

I have to politely disagree, some people are just bad, especially when they are trying out new champs then end up feeding to the team with all mastery 7 champs.

One thing I noticed is that a lot of times the worst most non-contributive players on the team are the ones who tell other people they "suck". As soon as someone starts going off at teammates you know it's probably going to be a rough game for your side because 1) that player going off is 90% of the time a weak player individually, hence easily frustrated, and 2) they don't understand team work or how to work together with other people at all.

Practice what you preach. Don't lay into someone who's tilted, or you're exactly as bad as they are.

We all have bad days.

I'm fine with teammates telling me I suck for dieing early and keep pinging me "?" signals but I hate when an enemy gets lucky or I misclick and kills me while escaping with 20 hp and going like"rekt" or "ez". That tilts me most considering that they act like 10 yo.

People are fragile and they like to shift blame. If they yell at you for messing up then they can blame the entire loss on you - regardless of who was at fault.

Yeah, like yesterday I play a really trashy game of Zyra mid. I'll be the first to admit it was't up to my usual standards, I was doing weird stuff all over the place. But then being told that I'm a trash player who doesn't deserve to have level 7 mastery, should never play Zyra again, can't land skillshots. It was so stupid, I have a 60% winrate on Zyra and play her in only mid/top. Literally the game before that one I went 15/4 when this one I went 5/15, but people don't see that and assume "wow boosted trash player". I had to /mute all but I think I was already tilted at that point
