How do we get gold on t3 support items?
From what I see after the quest completes, you don't have the passive spoils anymore?
How does one actually get gold after their first item then?

You get gold with kills/assists and the passive gold generation etc You get 1k gold with the item, you don't need to pay for supp item upgrades and the passive gold generation was buffed It's actually pretty damn nice

Once you complete the quest you evolve into a Season 3 ward dispenser.

know what also sucks? the ''spoils'' amount resets when the item upgrades, I walk to enemy tower with 3 stacks of it, 1st attack causes me to reach 500 gold breakpoint, items upgrades and now I have 0 spoils stacks, other 2 spoils stacks just went away, feels bad.
The stats say everything is fine. Supports appear to on average finish there first and third item 1 to 2 minutes earlier than on patch 9.22. They are finishing their boots upgrade and second item at about the same timing. Their fourth item is 1 to 2 minutes later. Fifth item is the support item, cause the stats site I am looking at does not pick it up as a completed item for the new support items (and I am not counting it when looking at the old patch stats). So on the fourth item the game has gone on so long supports no longer have a control ward slot.
So much noise over unimportant numbers like gold per 10. It is when item spikes are occurring that is important, especially early items.
I am looking and the 2.0 beta of lolalytics.com for global plat+. I am specifically looking at 
cause they are the current two highest on the tier list for that site.
Complaints about the the anit-poaching being present on the tier 3 is valid though. By that point it really should be more about what is the correct play rather than worrying about abuse cases.

You need to remember you safe money by not having to upgrade it which allows you to go into your core items quicker.

You get around the same amount of gold out of support items.
The problem is that not every champ wants AD or AP, making a lot of your effective gold wasted now. Not only that, but no form of HP regen or mana regen removes melee supports from botlane outside of a select few.
Its simple! You dont! :D +2g/10s is a pinkward every 6 minutes. And its only a +1g/10s for spellthief line. Enjoy!
