so i was playing a game a few days ago, and there was this cho gath on the enemy team. the guy was:

literally running it down mid
sold his items three times for 6 and then again for just a and then a at the end
he actually admitted in chat he was running it down mid because his team refused to FF

decided to check, and sure enough he had played a game just twelve hours go. naturally i just assumed, "hmm, perhaps theyre just backlogged on inting reports?" except... this game was 4 days ago. i have been told and also parrot how confirmed inting cases are an immediate 14 day ban, and you cant in any way, shape, or form say this actually wasnt inting (gonna go ahead and still abide by no name-shame rule, although im pretty sure it shouldnt even apply in this circumstance):

so im wondering, riotgames whats up? why you guys slacking? how long does it actually take for a troll such as this to actually be punished? afaik, you also tell us no matter the queue, trolling your team is never acceptable, so whats up?

update: i JUST got the ifs feedback pop up, hopefully it was in fact for this guy. took about a week, so hopefully this guy got what he deserved.

I was perma banned a while back because i refused to play after people rage left pre 10 minutes. At first I got a 14 day for inting a 4 v 5 as zilean after someone left 3 minutes in screaming at the adc.

Yeah, no. You cannot get banned for playing support ezreal. If the guy got banned, either it was a mistake and he should contact riot support, or he did something else.

There's a lot of people that think it should be reportable/bannable if the "off-meta" support doesn't explicitly get approval from his entire team.

They can think whatever they want, theyre wrong. Riot has no way to enforce what champions can get picked where, and other players have no control over what you pick. You can play whatever you want, however you want, as long as youre making a reasonable effort to win the game. You can win the game as ezreal support, so just picking it meets the basic criteria.

actually, you can pick whatever you want wherever you want, but you can not play in a manner that forces allies to play in a manner they do not want to

the reasoning is sketchy, but this is their judgement on the support nunu and singed cases

they're creating a lot of problems by attempting this kind of ban at all though as some players even see certain champions as a horrible gaming experience from their ally, which can lead to people getting banned for picking weak champions, etc

Then theyd get sued into oblivion because LoL is not free, and you unlawfully revoked someones right to a product they have purchased. Riot has no way to enforce who plays what where. Nowhere in their EULA or ToS does it say "Btw, you can only play what we claim to be appropriate for said role". Ontop of that, the client doesnt attempt to stop you from selecting ezreal support.

Riot would not win a case like this.

actually the ToS states you must also follow the summoners code, which states

Enjoy Yourself, but not at Anyone Else's Expense Making games is our business, so it should come as no surprise that we want you to have a lot of fun. We want you to get excited, to have tension-filled moments, and to celebrate your success. This doesn't mean that we're okay with you ruining anybody else's day.

picking support ezreal and forcing your team into a play style they dont want to is breaking this rule, which is breaking the summoners code, and thereby breaking the ToS. and league is not completely free, its even advertised as free to play, with the EULA also stating that youre purchasing the right to use a feature when you buy RP, you dont actually own the content.

tl;dr youre not actually entitled to anything you buy with RP other then the revoke able right to use them in game or in client.

alistar forces a passive lane

Leona effectively chooses between an aggressive lane and a passive lane

Soraka is a generalist but has no clear strengths other than sustain and her silence

blitzcrank is a kill lane with very little utility or pressure. Aggressive ranged supports can out-do blitz

pretty much every choice for support breaks their new "rule" , which is why I say their reasoning is sketchy

#pretty much the only reason people don't want to play with an ezreal support is because they think that it has less chances of winning than another support...

If I wanted to, I could do the same strategy with Sona and I actually intend to if I ever get a non-satellite connection again, but sona does not evolve into a second carry and her numbers have been crushed repeatedly

seriously, she does 40 damage for her starting Q now unless you manage to get in range to auto attack...

It is not. No one else suffers from you picking support ezreal. If they dont like it, its on them. No one cares. If im in a premade of 4, and none of us want a yasuo because we dont want to run a yas centered comp, does that entitle us to report and ban anyone who decides they want to play yasuo? Fuck no.

Also, this rule applies to someone intentionally trying to upset someone else or ruin their game, not pick intent.

Tl;Dr: No, support ez does not violate the summoners code.

ToS can say whatever it wants, it doesnt matter if its unlawful. Consumers have rights, and a blanket statement cannot revoke said basic consumer rights. If riot lacks a good reason to terminate your account without refund, its going to be a bad day for them.

but aside from that, they can ditch the game at any time. People buying league products are paying for a service and not a product. While it would be a -filtered- move, it would not be illegal for them to just discontinue the game any time they wanted to

something they could do is make an offline version of the game and its assets or give it a localized server, but they do not have to do it and it would require money to pay the programmers, which would depend upon if tencent decided to do so or not

The whole point is that you effectively lease your service from Riot. You have no claim to nor can you say you own anything in game. If Riot decided to Thanos half the playerbase and got sued for it, no one can do anything.

No, that would be a relatively easy lawsuit. Again, a ToS is a fancy piece of paper. It doesnt mean anything on its own. It represents what the company believes to be its bare minimum commitment to you is, and what it believes your commitment to them is. Until this is held up in court, its literally just a piece of paper. A ToS isnt an end all-be all document, and most of what is put in there is catch all and doesnt hold up in court as-is.

I think its more that not too often when people call an intentional feeder they dont actually back up those claims like i did with irrefuteable evidence, in most cases its after the replay has expired too, so we can never actually check, and all we have to go on is whatever they say.

Theres 60,000 videos saying "THIS IS SO BROKEN! RIOT NERF THIS!!!!!" for meme garbage and literally anything new.

Also Ezreal had some arguable support-ish utility up until like a month ago before they stripped it completely so even if it did legitimately work, it won't now. Vel'Koz and Zyra are actual supports for a reason, and Ezreal is not. Ezreal needs gold and minion kills to do his job.

A 45 minute game is not enough for Spellthief and klepto combined to generate enough for a Trinity Force or Archangels. Both items are vital for Ezreals kit and very expensive.

Velkoz has a knock up, poke that goes through minions and his damage is item-independent on top of being able to skip Sorcerers shoes since he has true damage What does Ezreal even offer his team without any item stats?

He can't proc Aery on allies anymore nor can he buff the ADC. He offers no CC, not even a meager slow let alone knock up or true damage. No buffs no sustain no Aery. He's completely wasting the pick.

Miss fortune was picked for one shotting Zyra plants and comboing with Ashe, who has hard cc vision and easy access to slows. None of these require items to do.

Ezreal Support is less meaningful than GP or Twitch even. Also don't pick them either.

For one, pretty sure not every Ezreal buys Trinity force and Archangels. Two, pretty sure your next comment in response to that would have to do with "best Ezreal" build so you can just not before you being. Three, you wouldn't keep Spellthief forever you'd upgrade it to Frost Queens at least. Four, I don't think you've actually tested this or run any numbers to make the claim of how much money you would generate with Frost Queens/Kleptoing all game.

Here, its simple. Play it, analyze it officially, then come back with the numbers and the results.

actually, with klepto and the frostqueen line, you can generate 97 to 197 gold per minute with just the spellthief

by the time you get frost queen, this is increased to between 157 and 257

for comparison, marksmen make up to 192 gold per minute at the beginning or up to 228 gold by the time frost queen is finished

the REAL problem is, there is no intbuster in place. well technically there is, but its hard to detect inting (tho running down is a different story) right now like 99% of inters get banned via manual review. and that is something that doesnt happen all the time. its a rare thing. so yeah.

The point is not to punish inters for other insignificant violations they might have committed in addition to the inting, but rather punish more harshly inting itself
