Masters player vs Silver player opinion on a champion

ryona··4 votes·861 views

Say a Masters player has his/her opinion on a champion, but a Silver player is like "no, that's fucking stupid" and gives their opinion on the same champion.

Assuming both people are serious, who would you likely trust

Detailed analysis and facts > opinions

Also gameplay itself is different across elos hence why both viewpoints have merit.

this... i would take a silver person's opinion with 500 games with an against X champ than a random master's opinion who doesn't play the champ.

I mean a lot of people in silver don't understand the game enough to actually understand champion powerspikes or when they are strong or how they are strong. You see a lot of silvers playing their champion incorrectly, building incorrectly, and not playing to their strengths. To get to challenger, they probably have played a LOT of league, and with this they have probably seen every champion played by the best people multiple times. They might not have played it themselves but they've seen how it should be played and know how to counter this.

That said, there experience is based around everyone playing at their best.

A pick which has almost no potential in Challenger can be effective in Bronze/Silver, due to the mistakes and misplays of all involved.

I'd trust a Silver level analysis of what works/doesn't work at my level more than I'd trust a Master level looking way back.

yes a lot of silver player dont understand anything probably the vast majority.. but that can be said of almost every elo. the rasio just gets lower as you go up

i am currently in silver 5 (i climbed out of bronze yesterday for the 4th season in a row)

and yet most teammates and oppoenents i face have next to zero knowledge of when to take objectives... how to splitpush, how to set up a 1/3/1.

and every 2-5 games i get maybe one or two other people on my team who are actually have decent game knowledge.

now that i am in silver that seen to happen ever 1-3 games. and by the time i hit gold (which i plan to do this season) i suspect i might get one every other game and sometimes have more than 1 in a game. until then.. duoing with someone who u can use discord chat with makes climbing STUPID easier.. just have ONE ally to que with who KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING works wonders

Whoever has more experience on that champion / gives more reason for their opinions. I know what you're trying to do and rank doesn't mean anyone's opinion is better than someone else's

Experience is not all created equal. Someone's experience on a champ. in a shitfest level game like Silver is not relevant. Experience only matters when vs competent players as far as evaluating a champion.

i don't know why but i feel like this thread is toward Rubick

i would trust the one bringing more explinations, facts, evidences, logic i wouldn't trust someone saying "i don't like playing against this champ therefore it has no counterplay/is toxic/should be gutted"

I mean, with no other information, I'd say the master player.

I've met plenty of morons at the top of the ladder, rank means nothing balance opinion wise in a game like league where anything above plat 5 is 95% attitude difference and macro play (and number of games played). Anyone with a brain can come up with coherent balance discussion if they do research and put thought into it.
