oracles ring is very overloaded stat-wise for what it's supposed to do, i' take out the giant's belt and remove the health from the item, and increase the completion cost, ending it up at around 2500-3000 gold

DJ S0NA1 votes

Yeah your right. I got carried away and made the item almost 130% gold efficient with the passive. I'll add a reworked version beloe in an edit.

Malicious Metal6 votes

Hell, I'd build that ring on Mordekaiser even though it gives mana regen. What is Sauron without his ONE ring?

Meep Man6 votes

item 1082 ?

DJ S0NA3 votes

I might do something about a "ring" item in a few hours. It favours Mordekaiser and mostly Vladimir actually (Spell Vamp). Give me time.

Edit: NVM it's called Shurelia's Torch. Still pretty neat for him I guess.

Meep Man6 votes

Why would you ever in ANY way build Athene's then? That is basically the God Mage item. It gives them everything except CDR and gives them absolutely everything they could possibly want except for a way to get an Assassin off your back. Oracle's Ring would be bought by practically every single AP Middle Lane in the game no matter WHAT or WHO they were unless they did not use mana. If you want my honest opinion, remove/reduce the health given and remove the magic penetration. Then reduce the cost of course slightly.

I like Divine Cloak though, it's interesting. Might be too uninteractive, but it's cool.

Dealth4 votes

When designing items you want there to be a clear purpose for the item.

You attempted this with cloak, but Ring is way to overpowered, I can't imagine a single AP champion who would not buy this item.

As for Cloak, it's definitely not an anti-assassin item. An anti-burst item would be like a shield that procs at low health.

% damage reduction is very touchy because it only scales with tank stats. For example, Maokai could buy this and be immortal but if Ahri bought this she would still be fairly squishy. I would make this item build off of seekers armguard, though.

And by the way, the only expensive component cost on the ring is the large rod. Everything else is super cheap and buildable.

OH and don't call it Oracles Ring unless it gives you some sort of vision.

DJ S0NA1 votes

Names are just placeholders actually. I took part of the names from removed/other items. Divine comes from "Sword of Divine", Cloak comes from "Negatron Cloak", Oracles comes from a removed item "Oracle's Hood" and Ring comes from another removed item "Zhonyas Ring"

Samflash31 votes

Cloak is a wonky build. While easier to build, Zhonyad still outclasses it. Would probably be better as a health, armour, ap item.

kile1471 votes

I agree that the percent physical reduction on the armor item kind of muddles the purpose.

Bhagswag3 votes

Braum E + Steelvine + ninja tabi + randuin = no more Yasuo.

aperson13 votes

These are all broken as fuck, and would obnoxiously skew the game towards AP mages. I hope I never see them in the game.

Regardless, +1 for actually trying to make a constructive thread.

DJ S0NA1 votes

Just wanted to try to reply to Riot because of Duskblade and Maw of Malmortius.

FortisDominus1 votes

LOL maw? really? exactly what aperson said, dont skew the game towards AP mages so heavily with these broken ass items.

BioticBrony3 votes

One of the reasons they don't add too much armor ap items is that they can stack them making them deal large amount of damage while being tanky. Same reason why they don't give many armor and ad options. While yes ad assassins get a lot of magic resistance from items while getting damage, they also have to deal with mage burst damage from afar while in lane.

Nekusen2 votes

the ring would make item 3174 even more useless.

i would change the ring to be built from

item 3136+ item 1004+ item 1004 +item 1026 +gold

15 m.pen 50% mana regen 80 ap 300 hp Unique passive: Gain 20% CDR as long as you have a DoT effect on a target.

divine cloak would be better off by being built from item 3191

1374345 votes

That passive is way too niche. There are only a handful of champions Swain Brand Malzahar Fizz Cassiopeia with DoTs that would use this, and DoT's don't last long enough for that 20% cdr to be useful (except for brand, you are basically giving him 20% cdr all the time).

LrgBeard1 votes

This would also be a pretty decent item on Singed Just change the passive so that it's 5%-10% move speed with a DoT and it would be perfect.

Crossette2 votes

Oracle's Ring has a different unique passive from Rabadon's in your situation.

30% and then 20% AP bonus, stacking?

Mages are strong enough.

DJ S0NA1 votes

Yeah I think i'll remove that passive since I don't really want 2 passives with 35% more AP.

Crossette1 votes

:P

LankPants2 votes

Mages are strong enough.

I really don't agree with that.

The mages who are actually seeing play right now are utility centric mages, I.E the ones who are less reliant on AP to function than an average mage. This is people like Lissandra, Lulu and TF. Damage based mages, those that rely heavily on AP like Syndra, Karthus and Ziggs are completely out of at least the competitive meta. The only damage based mage seeing any play at all is Lux and even she's pretty utility heavy.

There's a serious underlying problem with AP as a stat, it's heavily overcosted right now. Deathcap shouldn't be the most expensive item in the game, considering the stats it gives there's not really a justification for it being at 3800 gold.

Crossette2 votes

You realize that Deathcap being cheaper would both make Veigar extremely powerful and create a mage meta, right?

The price is good for that 30% AP buff, but people complain about mages being underpowered because assassins are meta.

LankPants2 votes

Right now Deathcap is both more expensive and overall less gold efficient than Infinity Edge using the 50% Crit derived value, which is its opposing AD 'variant'.

There's a serious problem when an item is both more expensive and less efficient than its closest equivalent from another stat.

Also there isn't a strong assassin meta right now, there's a utility mage meta, at least in competitive and high level play. These are the mages that don't really need AP to function.

Yeah I hear Veigar has never been nerfed, its against the law or something... So any changes to AP items would make him OP cause of that no Veigar nerfs law.

Just a ring with 80 ability power? Maybe not a ring.... cuz if u compare it to doran ring...

DJ S0NA1 votes

Zhonyas Ring back in Season 1 was literally Rabadons and Zhonyas in 1 item. Both passive and active in 1 item.

Zhonyas Ring back in Season 1 was literally Rabadons and Zhonyas in 1 item. Both passive and active in 1 item.

thats why they removed it :P

Oracle ring could get instead, the Spellblade passive (auto attacks deal x% of your AP as magic damage)

Or, if you want burst: casting a spell grants you 20 AP for 4 seconds, stacks 3 times.

If you want anti-tank: casting a single target offensive spell deals an extra 10% of the target's max HP as magic damage.

it all depends on what you want the item to do.

The Torch should instead, heal you 20% but over time (4 seconds or something) Shredded should probably proc when auto attacked too as the debuff is low (question, you meant the target gets 2.5% increased magic damage or 2.5% of its mr ignored ?)

Snow Tea1 votes

a ring is a small item and should not be that much power.

FacerollKatarina1 votes

Cloak is a good idea, the ring needs to be changed tho would synergize too well with deathcap

CrazedPorcupine2 votes

change the ring so that both the unique passives are named

Something like Enhanced Poewr - increase ability power by 15% for the Ring Enhanced Power - Increase Ability power by 25% for Deathcap.

Astôlfo1 votes

Shurelia's 15% healing seems a bit too much.

DJ S0NA1 votes

The healing is the same as the Will of the Ancients item 3152 . I just copied the same description.

Dengeden1 votes

I take it that last item was made under the assumption that Vlad was reworked/removed?

I don't think I like the item in general, it'd allow a mage to facetank minions while still having access to a 100 AP item. I can't think of a (true) mage with high enough CDs to not abuse the item. When you think about how efficient VS is despite its lower AP, the Shreded passive sounds like overkill.

Idk, I'm always skeptical about buffs to APs, their items hyperscale with each other once completed. They're also a lot less risky once that happens since they don't need to AA all the time (on top of using their abilities) to make them efficient.

DJ S0NA1 votes

I made the Shurelia's Torch without thinking actually. I mean with that item, Vlad doesn't even need to buy Will of the Ancients and will be a useless item because he is the only one capitalizing the item and using it.

As for other mages, yes it's a literal hypercarry AP item. Shreding at least 5% of MR in a teamfight will literally made other team's defenses very low, especially mages with big and long range abilities (Lux, Xerath, Ziggs, etc).

As from my point of view for other AP items, I don't really see what'a overpowered on them (except Oracle's Ring overstats). I kind of want somekind of superbuffed AP item that grants a few stuff (similar to Essence Reavers 30% cooldown passive).

Dengeden1 votes

Well Reaver suffers from a meh build path that offers no mana regen and the fact that the remaining 10% is hard to get (Trinity is expensive and Ionian's lower your late game damage). The item was introduced so caster ADs could continue buying crit without a delayed power curve (only to fall off later) and/or anti-synergy with their other items. I don't think there's a mage class that suffers from that problem. I don't think a mage could want any other stat than AP, CDR or mana (regen) either so there's no awkward build pathing for them.

EDIT: Ahri (and probably other mid range mid game bursters) would be a monster with that item too.

WoonStruck1 votes

Divine cloak needs to not be cost-efficient before the passive. Its an item you use to counter-build. Most of them do not start out positive.

Troll for Trump1 votes

Pretty sure the torch would make Luden's basically never used. Yes, the stats it gives are worse, but it's still better.

Lower gold cost makes it easier to get in shorter games.

It gives CRD, M.Pen(%) and some sweetspell vamp.

Would love it for Liandry's Rylai's Vlad/Brand though, though the former is a lot stronger with it

Kaeblen1 votes

I like Divine Cloak. Given its passive, though, I would put it at a much lower AP ratio. Giving it 100 AP would make sense if it were meant to replaceitem 3157 , but if they are to co-exist, they really shouldn't be that close stat wise.

LOL dude....

I want a new AD items too and its called "broken as shit because i get everything i want in one item":

80 AD

passive (stacks): Takes 15% reduced damage

passive: 10 armor pen

passive: 10% CDR

passive (not unique): upon killing an enemy, if you die within 10 seconds of killing the target you will be brought back to life at half health. (30 second CD)

for 3600

See this? i can make a broken item too

FortisDominus1 votes

You cant just look at an item and say "its cost effective, so its balanced", thats not how it works. All AP mages want armor, penetration, CDR, and damage all in one item (the cloak). However, you cant put all that into one nice package or else it will shift the meta to being completely dominated by AP champs. And if you do want to do this, you will have to signifcantly lower the damage from 100 to 75 and then it might be balanced.

Saphixia1 votes

That shurilas trch thing would be quite overpowered i beleive imagine darius although he doesnt benefit form ap, if he dunked you at max bleed, 3 point in ult, an easy 300 health back. And in tam fights, holy shit fuck other champions : Chogath he even benfits from the ap, soloing dragon at level 6 sounds fun. Evelynn she would heal little buts like 30 health once every 1.7 seconds, kinda op Fizz fizz, i need say no more Diana Akali Kennen Velkoz TwistedFate Viktor Zyra Rammus Orianna Nidalee Malzahar it would be a rise of the ap's i mean seriously which ap champs would thatpassive not be good on

Penta Penguin1 votes

That second item is kind of ridiculous, does a hell of a lot in one item even at that price

I am in for something with flap ap pen.

My take on Shurelia's Torch (good name btw).

The heal from physical attacks it gives is completely unnecessary considering it's a purely AP item. I could see maybe Udyr getting this item for the hybrid heal and move speed (synergizes with Runic echos)

About movement speed, I would make it build out of wisp.

The shredded passive is confusing. It sounds like whenever you take damage the enemy has lowered defenses, but that would make no considering this item is for squishy makes.

If it lowers their defense on hitting an ability, then I can't imagine a Mage that would use this to its full potential except for for Cassiopeia considering most mages only cast 3 spells in their combo then they wait for cooldowns.

If you made the passive work for all magic damage, that would open a lot of options for DoT or Kayle or Teemo.

You made Oracles ring a lot better, but it might be underpowered. My stance still remains on Cloak, it's not very healthy for the game.

SlashStriker1 votes

Divine Cloak 3350 Gold 100 Ability Power 50 Armor 10% Cooldown Reduction (awkward stat on this item. What was the item purpose again?) UNIQUE PASSIVE Steelvine - Reduces enemy physical attack damage by 8%.

  • I would prefer to get zhonya early game instead this item. I think 8% wont do much but since its a % damage reduction it should be focused on lane game.

Oracle's Ring 3600 Gold 275 Health (how about 400?) 75 Ability Power (round it to 80?) 75% Mana Regeneration (100%? mana regen sucks) UNIQUE PASSIVE: 10% Cooldown Reduction UNIQUE PASSIVE – EYES OF PAIN: 15 Magic Penetration (how about 15% magic damage instead?) UNIQUE PASSIVE - STORMRAIDER: When damaging with an ability, gains 15% movement speed for 2 seconds. (5 second cooldown ???? ) with so much stats it resembles trinity force for mages but not quite. Why does the item has CDR and how does it synchronize with other stats? What is the item focused on? I mean yeah the item gives tons of things a mage generally needs but what is the item general direction and how does the stats synchronize with each other?

For instance Witz End is anti mage attack speed item that benefits with onhit effects

  • onhit effect is effective with attack speed
  • attack speed makes you make magic resistance faster and thats how the item synchronizes with its stats

Oracle's Ring 3600 Gold

with so much stats it resembles trinity force for mages but not quite. Why does the item has CDR and how does it synchronize with other stats?

actually, it looks more like a item 3165 that doesn't suck.

i would like a new mage item that doesn't force you to buy mana regen as some mages already build mana items.

Fat Bastard GOD1 votes

That Shurelia's touch would be fantastic on Morde. Combined with Hextech Gunblade, your tankiness would be unmatched. Both items heal off all damage dealt. I would make a unique passive for those two items so maybe they couldn't be synergized and be abused by healing mages (Morde, Akali).

Awesome item ideas! God damn Morde would be a god with those two items...

hope they add new ap items soon
