Your patch notes don't makes sense.

You say you want to make Jarvan a better team fighter, well guess what, unless you're building A LOT of AD, doing aoe damage with the cataclysm won't make a solitary iota of difference. If you aren't already using it to set up for a comp based around aoe ultis, then you probably aren't looking to catch multiple people and if you are, then the extra 300-400 damage that a basically tank jungle jarvan is going to add to the front line tanks isn't go to make a gnats fart of difference to killing that 4k hp 300 armor nautilus in a team fight.

Unless you build enough AD to do something in the neighbourhood of 800 damage with that ulti and try to take down all the squishies in one glorious goomba stomp, this change isn't going to do ANYTHING for Jarvan's ability to jungle effectively. He's still going to get outscalled by everyone who can build runic or devourer and he's still going to get his shit kicked in early by Lee and Elise and Xin and fucking anybody really. Hell I almost always start red on blue side because I know full well the enemy can kill me at it if I start krugs because oh, that's right, you fucking gutted Jarvan's early sustain a while back and taking 8 seconds off his w cooldown at level 1 isn't going to change that.

Your patch notes say you want to give Jarvan a reason to stick around in the fight, but giving him initial aoe burst damage on his ult doesn't accomplish that. In fact it does the opposite, it incentivizes me to build full AD, dunk as many people as possible and then E/Q or flash away like a total coward.

I don't think you understand this champion at all.

Whoever wrote your patch notes certainly doesn't and whoever decided this was the way to buff him doesn't either.

I can name 3 ways that are better for buffing him that are all more interesting, more Jarvan and less rewarding of total bullshit builds than what you have done and I can do it without even really trying that hard.

  1. Make his flag do a neat thing. Give it an aura that isn't going to be bullshit, I don't care what that is. Give it bonus AD, give it a Janna passive, give it a negative Janna passive for enemies, like a reverse captains boots aura, where enemies get slowed walking away from it which gets more effective the closer they are to the flag.

  2. Give Jarvan a reason to either keep the cataclysm up or break it down. I know there's some intense spaghetti code around his ult, but you can do shit with that. Have walls that are broken early leave an area of rubble that slows enemies, make Jarvan radiate a kind of mini nunu ult that only goes off if he is still in the cataclysm when it times out. Make it actually impassable to champions who can't get over walls.

  3. For the love of God put some HP scaling on his W. For fuck sakes Riot, that's all you need to make him a tank again, GIVE HIM A REASON TO BUILD HP! He used to have free armor for that, but you took it away. Give him a reason to build hp again and that's all you need do to fix him! Jesus you're stupid sometimes...

There, 3 better ways to fix Jarvan. Revert this stupid pointless change on the next patch and do one of these things.
