What advice can I give to my friend?

Hello,

So I love playing with my friends. Obviously. Most people do. However, I have a friend, and he tends to play rather aggressively.

The issue is, he does really well early game and snowballs, but then tends to fall off super hard.

I'll give you a good example (Match link: http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/2117927736/210971084?tab=overview)

He played Udyr. He wanted to play Udyr and wanted to play jungle, but got top, so he played top Udyr which isn't an issue for me because I've seen it work.

He got first blood and played really well at the beginning. He got a good number of kills early and got us first dragon, but late game, he just made really dumb plays, where he would run all the way down river, sweeping for wards. Obviously, he would die.

He would then get super angry and start to blame the team. While some of it was my team's fault, he just always runs off on his own and ends up dying.

What advice can I give him?

Sounds like he gets cocky when things start going well. When he starts running off on his own, maybe remind him that late game is the time to work as a team. Or if your friend is actually a really good friend, the next time he gets mad because you all didn't follow him into certain death, be straight forward and tell him what he did was a bad idea.

Objectively speaking, looking at the match history, he probably did Okay. Also, Udyr really doesn't have much utility in his kit, so he can't do anything if he does not play aggressive. He could have tried the split push game, But as a top laner, you would want to trade Ignite for TP.

Over all, both teams kinda don't look right. (Who would put Sated on Teemo, and not build any other AP/AS items?) I can't see Lissandra working as a support. (She's too close range to safely poke with her Q, and RoA takes way too long build, on support level gold. Even after skiping the sight stone.) But on the enemy team, I can't fathom any reason to play Braum in any other position but support.

His aggression is good. You need to be aggressive to make plays to win the game. But, he needs to decide as player whether he wants to be a split push threat by building zz'rot portal (which is ideally how udyr should be played) or grouping up. Being a split pusher is alot tougher because it requires your teammates to trust you and you need good map awareness and decision making. If hes grouping, he better play around the team and not try to 1v5. In general, you should group in the mid to late game. Always pay close attention to the minimap for mias. If you dont know where the enemy is, be very careful of fog of war and get wards on the map. Your friend cant be taught "good decision-making" becaus that is learned through experience and being conscious of your decisions and the consequences.
